Expect the unexpected. That's what they say, but it's easier said than done.
How do you expect a change so huge it rocks you to your core?
How do you prepare yourself for an event that will alter your life forever?

Other reviews reveal the main issue with the book. Kaylee Ryan did the unexpected thing...she detailed a one night stand and made it really important. Other books of a similar genre will skim past this but giving more insight into the woman who was the one night stand, well, set up some disappointment in the end. Not to mention, what was it with these men and their bets?? (read it, you'll see).
But then we get to the real meat of the story. Ridge is a new father. Can he find love and happiness given tragedy? The end was sweet and happy. Truly, low angst, which of course, was not at all how the first say 30% was played. And overall, I enjoyed the book because I did love the emotions that I went through especially during the last 70% of the book.
Speaking of the audiobook...Teddy Hamilton. He's amazing. Of course. I buy any book that is whispersynced and discounted if he's the narrator. Callie Dalton did great too. Good command of her voice and able to vary for both male and female characters. I enjoyed the narration and i'm glad I gave this book a try because of the narrators.
Sweet in the end although some angst initially

First I am glad I picked it up, the narration is fantastic. I loved the performance the narrators did with this subject matter; you can hear the heaviness of certain scenes. It wasn’t overdone it was just right. It added that depth to the book that only audiobooks can give.
Ridge is about to be in for the ride of his life. I loved his character right from the beginning and he only endears himself to me more as the book went on. He really steps up which is a very likable quality.
Kendall was kinda awesome; I loved her profession she had a little hick up with the ex but honestly who doesn’t. So that wasn’t unexpected. I like how well the story flowed and how easy it was too see these two come together.
I also liked that there wasn’t any angst and that it was low on drama I would say there wasn’t any but there was at the end that I thought was unnecessary and that the book didn’t need it. Before that last twist I would have given this book a 5 star hit it out the park. But I just don’t see why the author added that last part in. The story didn’t need it. It was perfect the way it was. But say la vee.
