Dr. Corbin Davis is a busy guy just trying to do his best as a single parent. He may be oblivious to a lot of things, but surely he would’ve noticed something as important as his 15-year-old son Grayson being bullied, right? I didn’t mean to stow away on the yacht, I swear. My first mistake was going home with the jerk at the bar, but in my defense, Prescott said he owned the Worthington - 90 feet of sleek, yachty perfection - and if I could get the chief mate’s job, I’d have an excuse to stay on board and keep avoiding my family and my future. How was I supposed to know he was the owner’s cheating, gold-digging almost brother-in-law, or that I’d end up stuffed in a closet when the ship left the harbor?

Publisher's Summary
Davey’s revised rule nyumber one: A good Daddy will love his boy with all his heart.
Davey Hendrickson doesn’t mind being forever single when he’s got his bestie at his side. It’s not that he wants to be single. He’s spent most of his adult life searching for his own perfect Daddy. Even if he’s not naturally submissive, someone that fabulous is obviously meant to be a boy...right? Over the years, he’s dated every type of Daddy imaginable but not one of them could come close to meeting the requirements from his ridiculous list of rules.
After losing his husband, Sammy Robustelli has learned to be strong while raising two children on his own. No matter what life has thrown his way, nothing seems too hard with his best friend and roomie Davey at his side. When the two friends learn that people believe they’re a couple, they can’t help but laugh. The very idea is a big joke...until it isn’t.
It only takes a few wake-up calls before Davey wonders what happens if a guy might be in love with the best friend he can never have. It could never work for a pair of boys in need of a bossy top, right? Except...maybe Davey doesn’t know himself - or Sammy - as well as he thinks.
This is the final book in a series about not-so-perfect Daddies, adorable “boys”, and one sassy brat with an insane list of rules. Grab your fan and tissues because this series comes with both a high heat advisory and all the squishy feels you’d want from a Susan Hawke book.

Friends to Lovers (Take a Chance on Love)
This was one of the best friends to lovers stories that I've read in a while. I was glad to see Davey finally listen to his friends and his own gut on realizing he is a daddy and not a boy. I loved how Sammy and Davey were willing to take a chance on love and how they never forgot about Raph as well to keep his memory alive. I really enjoyed reading and listening to this series and Davey’s book was a perfect end and I can't wait to read/listen to the spin-off series.

Davey and Sammy are adorable together!
This was a fun romance, with a lot to smile about. I loved the relationship between Davey and Sammy. It was great how everyone else realized that the men were more than friends before they did themselves. Davey had an incredibly easy time moving away from the things he'd thought he wanted when he made his massive list of rules, but I was happy to see him embrace his new desires. And Sammy was a wonderful friend, father, and lover. I adored this story.
The narrator was terrific, as always. He is especially great with humorous moments, which is why he's a favorite for me.
A good story and a solid performance make this an entertaining listen. Recommended!

The perfect end to a fun-filled series--5+ stars!
Saying goodbye to characters that you've grown attached to is never an easy thing, but it's a reality any reader has to deal with when it comes to a series ending. Susan Hawke's has managed to give readers not just one but two series where the casts of characters are the kind that stay with you long after one couple gets its happy ending and the next one comes along. Hawke certainly had her work cut out for her because her Lovestrong series had that perfect balance of angst and humor and Michael Dean, who narrated the audiobooks under his Michael Pauley moniker, brought every single one of those stories to life and his voice served as the perfect accompaniment. While I fell in like with the Davey's Rules series in the beginning, that like developed into love with each new story that Hawke released, and now we've reached the end with Davey himself getting his happily-ever-after with none other than his best friend, Sammy.
Davey has been such a fixture throughout the series. After all, he's the snarky, whip-smart diva who had a seemingly never-ending list of rules for his future Daddy. Here's the thing, though: that list of his made two things clear--first, no such Daddy would ever be able to follow every single one of Davey's rules; and second, maybe Davey wasn't as much of a boy as he may have thought he was. Sure, Davey was a brat and a diva, but was it possible that the Daddy of his dirtiest dreams didn't exist because he would never have had a good with any Daddy? Not only is his circle of friends pointing out that maybe Davey was meant to be more of a Daddy than a boy, but they're beginning to make him see his best friend, Sammy, in a whole new light. But are Davey and Sammy willing to mess around with each other if it means messing with the family unit they've created with Sammy's children? And could this be a fling or a forever kind of thing?
I adored Sammy from the moment his character was introduced in the series, and my heart broke for him when he lost his beloved Raph. On the other hand, Davey is one of those characters who I was a tad iffy with in the beginning, and that had a lot to do with his being a diva. But with each new book, Susan Hawke has peeled back layers, and Davey was revealed to be someone whose heart was filled with care and concern for those who mattered most to him. Funnily enough, he kinda-sorta-maybe-really reminded me of myself. I was wary about how Hawke would make their relationship go from platonic to romantic, especially given how much Sammy loved Raph, but I needn't have worried because she pulled it off wonderfully! And as expected, Michael Dean did what he does best and gave his best performance to date in this series with this absolutely heartwarming and humorous ending. Five-plus stars for Rules to Ignore! ♥

fantastic!
Oh, I have all the love and feelings for this book. W have all been waiting for Davey to get his turn and finally, we have it. I hate Sammy lost his first honey, but I am happy that he was able to end up with Davey. I was not sure how this book was going to go man did it get me all crazed wild with excitement for the love these two have for each other. Man don't get me started on Davey and the kids oh my goodness he melts your heart with the love he has for those kids. Michael did such a crazy amazing job with this book. Between the emotions he hit and the love you could hear pouring out of his voice as he told us this story. This has to be one of my favorite books that he has done.

Incredible ending to a wonderful series!
This was the perfect ending to the perfect series! I can’t wait for the spin-off series. Davey, Diva extraordinaire, is living with his best friend Sammy after Sammy’s husband Raphael passes away. Davey helps Sammy parent his two kids all while exploring new feelings for each other that everyone else sees except the two MC’s. This was a sweet MM story of to confused guys trying to figure out relationship dynamics in the midst of raising a pre-teen girl and younger boy, one who is struggling with bullying and teenage-angst. Love this happy ending for them all!! And fantastic narration as usual.

This is the path I didn't know I needed for Davey to take! I wasn't sure how this was going to roll out and was skeptical at first. Revised Rules with Diva Daddy Davey
I'd been looking forward to reading Davey's story for some time, but I came away from "Rules to Ignore" a bit unsatisfied. It may be because Davey and Sammy's coming together (Ha! Unintended pun.) was such a slow burn/realization rather than the dazzling sparks and fireworks display I'd anticipated with Davey finally finding *the one*. That, and Davey and Sammy's pairing just never quite jived for me on the chemistry/heat scale, but that's on me. Overall, though, this was a good story and it was fun seeing Davey revisit many his rules with fresh "Diva Daddy" eyes.
Narrator Michael Dean gave an enjoyable performance, providing distinct voices that skillfully matched previous MCs across the series.

Davey the Diva...Daddy?
At long last! Davey comes into his own and finds his stride alongside his beloved bestie Sammy. Michael Dean, one of my all-time favourite narrators, does an excellent job as always of bringing the guys to life and giving Davey the Diva his due! I've been looking forward to this one for a long time. I think a lot of S. Hawke's fans are with me on this one as the culmination of the story arc that has been a long-time coming since the beginning. Highly recommended Daddy/Boy romance with a best-friends to lovers trope.

A Great Story
This is the seventh book in The Davey's Rules Series. A great book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters wonderful. The characters were developed and thought out. Davey and Sammy are the MC’s of this book. The narration was done well, and I can recommend this book as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Fun conclusion to Davey's story
This is a fun, sexy, unexpected conclusion to Davey's search for a Daddy. Who knew he might be sitting on the wrong side of the table? Davey and Sam were such great characters as they fumbled their way from best friends to lovers, and I loved their tag-team parenting style. It was fun to see all the other couples to, the Daddies with their boys and littles.
Michael Dean's narration was great. He really gets the diva presentation down perfectly!

A fantastic conclusion to the Davey’s Rules series. We finally get Davey’s story and it’s a cracker, a friends to lovers romance with some big self discovery along the way.
Sammy and Davey are so perfect for each other, who knew Davey would be the most fabulous of daddies. His journey throughout the series has been great and his book was the perfect ending.
Michael Dean once again provides awesome narration he really captures both characters very well.

Davey discovers his truth
Davey’s Rule # 28 – Daddy is responsible for killing all bugs. Especially hairy spiders.
Raphael Robustelli was a great daddy. He and his boy Sammy had a beautiful relationship – from the moment they met they were destined to be together. Eventually they had two beautiful children, married, rescued Raph’s nephew Jeffrey, and lived a charmed life. Until the moment it all fell apart and a heart attack ripped Raph from his family. Devastated, Sammy, Jeffrey, and the kids slowly moved on, but it was a tough go. After a few years, their friend Davey moved in. Ostensibly because there was a flood in his condo. But that was two and a half years ago and Davey has stayed. He’s become a member of the family. He’s become a co-parent. He’s Sammy’s best friend.
Despite this, the men are genuinely surprised when they discover all the parents at their kids’ school have figured they were together. The men are open with their affection and teasing, but they’re just friends, right? Because if there is one thing they cannot be, it’s a couple. Under the façade and respectability they show the world, both men have a Daddy/boy fetish. Not exactly something you share at PTA. It means that when Sammy tries dating, he’s failing partly because no one will ever replace the Daddy he lost. It means when Davey goes out with Daddies and it doesn’t work, he’s just not met the right one. Or, as their friends surmise – Davey and Sammy need to be together romantically. Stop the presses. Since they are both boys looking for daddies, that’ll never work.
Or will it? As Davey ruminates:
Even though I had always been serious about my list - and positive about what I wanted - it had almost been more about the chase than the reality of what a relationship like this would entail. Sure, it was fun to prance around being fabulous and calling other men ‘Daddy’, but that was just my inner flirt coming out to play. How had I missed something so simple? Why hadn’t I understood that a Daddy and boy dynamic was a true partnership with each giving the other what they needed as well as the trust that went along with it? I liked men big enough to toss me around, and assumed that naturally meant I needed to be bossed by them too. Jiminy Christmas, Preston was right. And Adam. And Cameron. S-t. Being a daddy or a boy had nothing to do with size. Or age. Or fabulousness. It just meant wanting to be the one to nurture and protect your partner. And even if Sammy was big enough to protect me, that wasn’t the kind of protection he needed anyway. No, Sammy was strong enough to fight any battle. What he needed was a Daddy who would shield him from other things that might hurt him.
A moment of clarity. There are a few more, to be sure, but they all work. This book fits together all the missing pieces. Fills in the blanks. Makes everyone whole. Now, I recommend having read Making Rules before this one because it helps make the transition believable. Realistic. Giving rise to the Diva Daddy in all his glory.
Davey’s Rule # 53 – Daddy shouldn’t be afraid to let his boy top.
I loved this series and am sad to see it end. There are hints of a spin off and I already like the characters lined up. I adore how Ms. Hawke can create a world with so many interconnections and relationships. I love how she brings joy and a bit of heartache. Losing Raphael early in the series brought me to tears, giving Sammy his happily ever after in this book brought me joy.
I’ve said many good things about Michael Dean, but they bear repeating. His talent is on full display as he helms this series. And although the books are great, Michael brings a new level of emotion to the stories. Also, his reading of the list of rules at the end of the book is worth the price of admission. I’m sorry this part of the story is over, but I’m so glad to know there’s more to come.

Perfect ending
The ending was inevitable. I absolutely loved being able to go along with Davey and Sammy as their relationship devloped.
The fact that they were such good friends first was a blessing and also a bit of a blind spot for them.
They practically knew everything about each other except in the most intimate circumstances.
That was a bit of a downfall because they were basically in a committed relationship and didn't even realize it.
It also became very clear that Davey had some very interesting and misguided beliefs when it came to the roles people play in relationships.
It was so very satisfying to see them finally realize just how perfectly matched they were.
I also absolutely loved the reality of the family scenes combining the madcap hilarity that can ensue as well as the painful anguish of being a parent in this day and age.
Michael Dean did an absolutely stellar job narrating this series.

Perfect! Michael Dean is Amazing
A sweet and delicious cherry on the top of an absolutely perfect series. Rules to Ignore, the seventh (and final) book in Susan Hawke’s Davey’s Rules series just couldn’t be any better! Davey finds his perfect match, and Sammy gets a happy ending… gah, I’m in heaven right now.
I’ve enjoyed the entire series in audio. Beautifully performed by Michael Dean, he's brought the Davey's Rules characters to life. Sassy, sexy, and sometimes sad, Mr. Dean has embodied the essence of these men. I'm thoroughly charmed.
While this is the end of the Davey's Rules series, Ms. Hawke promises a spin-off and I can hardly wait!

A fitting end to a beautiful series
Well here it is the final installment of Davey's Rules.
It's a shame as I love these characters.
But it's Davey's time for love. He's such a diva, but he looks after Sammy after Sammy lost Daddyn Raph.
He 's looking for a Daddy himself because honey he's too fabulous to be anything else. He helps him bring up their children Samantha Jade and Milo.
Neither of them have ever thought about being with the other one. They're just best freinds..... or are they.
The interaction between these too is hot. You'll love them both.
Some of the other characters from the series also make an appearance and try to get Davey to realise he is a Daddy not a boy.
Susi Hawke strikes again. She is one of my favourite authors.
If you have read my reviews before you will know that Michael Dean is a GOD!! I would seriously pay good money to have him read me to sleep at night. His voice is so hmmmmmm and he can also grasp all the different characters styles perfectly..
Loved it!!

Such a good end to the series!!
This book is so good!! I’ve loved this series and have really enjoyed each time a Daddy has found his perfect boy. But I’ve always wanted Davey to find his perfect match and I’ve wanted Sammy to find love again. In this book I got both my wishes - contented sigh! I’m not going to give away any spoilers, all I’ll say is this is a perfect ending to a much loved series!
Michael Dean did an amazing job as narrator throughout the series
