Publisher's Summary

The year is 2076, and mankind has perfected VR technology using the Chip, an implant that interfaces directly with the human brain, using it like an organic computer. Age of Anarchy Online (AAO) is the newest game released by Icestorm, makers of the legendary World of Destiny (WoD).

Unlike VR games before it, AAO promises a 110 percent “Better Than Life” realism experience, and to showcase this, Icestorm announces that AAO will have no “Out of Character” rules, save for actions like hacking or exploiting system errors. Players can do anything to NPCs and even other players, and there will be no consequences save what one may suffer in game. "Do what thou wilt, but it may be done to you in turn".

Mike Greene, better known in WoD as Torgan, a max level Paladin and leader of the lords of light, one of the top “light side” guilds in WoD, now sets off on a new adventure in AAO.

Good story, a LOT of fade to black

This was a good, different take on litrpg. The MC has no desire to be good, neutral, or redeemable. The main issue I have is that slavery, humiliation, spit roasting people, and cannibilism is perfectly ok, but sex is too much? Just dont really understand the reasoning for cutting out all of the sex scenes when there are much more taboo things in this book. Would've given a 4.5 star if they weren't cut. Just an ok book without, but maybe some ppl will like the changes

Good story. Bad editing.

The story is good and and the narrator was good. but, there were tons of random pauses, repeats, and narrator swallowing and sighing. It seems as if there was NO editing or post production for the narration.

Very bad narration seemed like they didn’t care about fixing mistakes

Honestly the story is fine, I mean you get exactly what you would expect given the name and description. That said the narration is truly bad, it honestly seems like they tried to just do everything on the first take and just ignored any mistakes they made as unimportant. There was multiple times the narrator would cough mid sentence or would say a line then pause and repeat the line as if they had paused the recording for a minute and forgot they had already read it. Honestly it’s one of the worst audio performances I have ever heard not counting ones where the writer did it themselves to save time.

Cannibals

Everything was pretty cool until he started to eat people alive. I know it warns you that this is a villains story but that was more than chaotic evil that was full on disgusting and depraved

Could use a different narrator...

Narrator was fine, but could have been much better.
Story is adults only. Trust me.

This book is for mature audience's. There is a good amount of fade to Black content. However there is a lot adventure also. Great change a pace listening about a great a great Villian.

warnings not strong enough rated x not strong enou

cannibalism implied incest slavery harem dominatrix these are the lighter parts of this book farthest author shows that he is an amazing author this it's not something anyone under the age of 18 should be listening to the other thing is this author just need to do what he's done so it shows his commitment to showing the bad side of the evil Journey I hope to see the softer do more work without all the theatrics and to something that everybody can listen to within the the litrpg genre very soon or if possible something within this genre of the evil side but again something that is more story driven to show his true talents that everybody can listen to

Male Power Fantasy Dumpster Fire

The MC is has exactly one personality trait and there is no character growth whatsoever.
The world, game mechanics, etc is all ripped off from D&D (sloppily), including names of Gods, monsters, mechanics/feats, etc.
The narration needs heavy editing, because all the parts where the narrator stops to take a drink, stumbles on a word or line, or flat out mispronounces something are all left it, breaking emersion.

If gratuitous rape, enslavement of women, and a thin layer of shoddy plot to disguise what is essentially male power fantasy porn is your thing, maybe it's worth listening to. Otherwise, I'd suggest a hard pass.

Love it!

I love litrpg’s that have non human main characters!
also a big fan of the main being a villain vs a hero is a refreshing change of pace I love it and recommend it to any fans of litrpg’s!
