Publisher's summary

The year is 2076, and mankind has perfected VR technology using the Chip, an implant that interfaces directly with the human brain, using it like an organic computer. Age of Anarchy Online (AAO) is the newest game released by Icestorm, makers of the legendary World of Destiny (WoD).

Unlike VR games before it, AAO promises a 110 percent “Better Than Life” realism experience, and to showcase this, Icestorm announces that AAO will have no “Out of Character” rules, save for actions like hacking or exploiting system errors. Players can do anything to NPCs and even other players, and there will be no consequences save what one may suffer in game. "Do what thou wilt, but it may be done to you in turn".

Mike Greene, better known in WoD as Torgan, a max level Paladin and leader of the lords of light, one of the top “light side” guilds in WoD, now sets off on a new adventure in AAO.

very unfinished.

This story has a lot of potential. It was nowhere near ready for publishing. I Hope that it is polished in the future and I am very interested to see where the story goes.

great book to read not listen to

loved the story and the book but hate the narrator and think the book needs to be recorded by someone that knows how to edits.

Love it!

I love litrpg’s that have non human main characters!
also a big fan of the main being a villain vs a hero is a refreshing change of pace I love it and recommend it to any fans of litrpg’s!

Very fun listen

This book is for mature audience's. There is a good amount of fade to Black content. However there is a lot adventure also. Great change a pace listening about a great a great Villian.

Very bad narration seemed like they didn’t care about fixing mistakes

Honestly the story is fine, I mean you get exactly what you would expect given the name and description. That said the narration is truly bad, it honestly seems like they tried to just do everything on the first take and just ignored any mistakes they made as unimportant. There was multiple times the narrator would cough mid sentence or would say a line then pause and repeat the line as if they had paused the recording for a minute and forgot they had already read it. Honestly it’s one of the worst audio performances I have ever heard not counting ones where the writer did it themselves to save time.

well its not rules free because you made it clear that ots about a “villain”

dude your idea of litrpg is like that of a child.... so litrpg is about metadata of a player that can be understood visually... it has nothing to do with heros anitheros or whatever you think its about that called fantasy... anyway you need to grow up mmo have good and bad guys always have so your preface is unintelligent... remember the crowd that reads and specifically sicfi

Good Story but Only Passing Narration

and the mic used to record voice at half the time was canny and the other half of the time it went in and out of good hearing. Lastly the narrator seem very unprofessional and never seemed to adjust his voice for the different character and all character where voiced in the same male tone all through the reading.

it was ok. I like evil MCs

it was ok not great. the audio quality is that of a very good free audiobook. the lack of editing out breaths did not bother me too much.

this is like a badmarysue however.
he is playing an evil class with a harem and it reads as you would expect. however he rarely seems to be challenged.

the other reviewer was correct ... it ends real dumb... really dumb.

like 1 more chapter would have placed it in a good end point .. or an epilogue but we don't get that.

I rarely write reviews and listened to this due to him not being in a dive capsule but having q chip installed in his head... I actually could have used more real life story to get more lore out of game but it was a decent amount.

this is a harem sex story and focus a lot of its energy there.

sometimes glosses over combat like it's getting in the way of sex scenes.

I have exhausted the litrpg genre however so I'm bottom barreling. but I finished it and it did make me want more of the story so ... there is that.
