Publisher's Summary

The year is 2076, and mankind has perfected VR technology using the Chip, an implant that interfaces directly with the human brain, using it like an organic computer. Age of Anarchy Online (AAO) is the newest game released by Icestorm, makers of the legendary World of Destiny (WoD).

Unlike VR games before it, AAO promises a 110 percent “Better Than Life” realism experience, and to showcase this, Icestorm announces that AAO will have no “Out of Character” rules, save for actions like hacking or exploiting system errors. Players can do anything to NPCs and even other players, and there will be no consequences save what one may suffer in game. "Do what thou wilt, but it may be done to you in turn".

Mike Greene, better known in WoD as Torgan, a max level Paladin and leader of the lords of light, one of the top “light side” guilds in WoD, now sets off on a new adventure in AAO.

Good story, a LOT of fade to black

This was a good, different take on litrpg. The MC has no desire to be good, neutral, or redeemable. The main issue I have is that slavery, humiliation, spit roasting people, and cannibilism is perfectly ok, but sex is too much? Just dont really understand the reasoning for cutting out all of the sex scenes when there are much more taboo things in this book. Would've given a 4.5 star if they weren't cut. Just an ok book without, but maybe some ppl will like the changes

Good story. Bad editing.

The story is good and and the narrator was good. but, there were tons of random pauses, repeats, and narrator swallowing and sighing. It seems as if there was NO editing or post production for the narration.

Very bad narration seemed like they didn’t care about fixing mistakes

Honestly the story is fine, I mean you get exactly what you would expect given the name and description. That said the narration is truly bad, it honestly seems like they tried to just do everything on the first take and just ignored any mistakes they made as unimportant. There was multiple times the narrator would cough mid sentence or would say a line then pause and repeat the line as if they had paused the recording for a minute and forgot they had already read it. Honestly it’s one of the worst audio performances I have ever heard not counting ones where the writer did it themselves to save time.

it was ok. I like evil MCs

it was ok not great. the audio quality is that of a very good free audiobook. the lack of editing out breaths did not bother me too much. this is like a badmarysue however. he is playing an evil class with a harem and it reads as you would expect. however he rarely seems to be challenged. the other reviewer was correct ... it ends real dumb... really dumb. like 1 more chapter would have placed it in a good end point .. or an epilogue but we don't get that. I rarely write reviews and listened to this due to him not being in a dive capsule but having q chip installed in his head... I actually could have used more real life story to get more lore out of game but it was a decent amount. this is a harem sex story and focus a lot of its energy there. sometimes glosses over combat like it's getting in the way of sex scenes. I have exhausted the litrpg genre however so I'm bottom barreling. but I finished it and it did make me want more of the story so ... there is that.

Bad Nararating & Editing, but still a Good Book

The narrator breaths to mutch and at one point he blows into the microphone, he occasional coughs and at one point says cough cough and I have no idea why he misspeaks and says it again all for the listeners to hear. All that being said I love incubi and "evil" books like this. Finding a good incubus book is pretty rare. I like how he treats his slaves and the way he dealt with that woman under the table was so unexpected for multiple reasons and I loved it. Keep up the good work and fire that narrator.

great book to read not listen to

loved the story and the book but hate the narrator and think the book needs to be recorded by someone that knows how to edits.

Good story

the story was good but the narration could use work. The author would have made more money and sold more audiobooks if he had someone who could perform multiple voices. I didnt even buy the second omnibus because I heard the sample and the guy that did it is worse then the first one. I hope he didnt have to pay them for there performances because he got screwed if that's the case. I'll just stick to reading Grosse 's books instead.

Guilty pleasure

loved the idea nice to see a fantasy story not written for teens. Editing could have been better hearing the Narrator drinking and clearing his throat is my biggest complaint

Ok story but goes off the rails halfway through

I enjoy the premise of a evil MC but about halfway through this book just turns into a really poorly written BDSM erotica. Also there is no post production sound editing at all. The constant pauses, throat clearing, etc.. make this book really hard to get through.

good story but...

a good story that I would recommend but the narrator seemed to be only doing this because he had to. with many long pauses in the middle of sentences and repeating lines it was a far cry from the quality of the other audiobooks by Stuart Grosse
