Great book!

Engaging story and solid narration!

The story of a young man who gains powers and how he copes, adjusts, and grows with them.

This is the story of an unapologetic villain - well written and narrated, but villainous.

The negative reviews have more to do with people being offended by the MC's choices than quality of writing and narration. If you can't handle villainous choices don't read a book about a villain - and don't smear it because you didn't like it. (you can tell some of them were reviews from people who don't care for the genera, but got the book for free)

This is an interesting look into the behind the scenes world of supers.


fun and well worth a credit

Voice Actor was Adequate, Story needs more tact

Story: It's not a bad story, it just falls prey to 2 major flaws:

1) MC never really works for his McGuffans
2) The Rape/ Slave fantasy is in poor taste. Leave it to our imaginations, dont play out your fantasies (this is worse then the overly descriptive and sexual Bard at a D&D table)

Interesting Story, Great Narrator

First, the book was read by an excellent narrator, I really enjoyed his style and speaking manner. I’ll definitely look for other books he narrates.

The story was interesting, as the title suggests... it’s a memoir of a super villain. It felt like a series of short stories that didn’t always flow together perfectly; but it’s a memoir, so that makes sense. I will say that there was a NSFW section right at the end that didn’t really add anything in my opinion. Violence was present but not excessive.

good story with a few problematic issues

while this story was overall quite enjoyable, the unnecessarily graphic sex scenes in an otherwise good story were quite jarring and didn't fit the tone of the rest of the piece.

AN AWESOME BOOK & A BIT OF SEXY TIME TOO!

Totally enjoyed it! A fresh look at the making of a villain and his origin story. Also, a bit of some old trashy romance novel added in the mix was a total surprise and great!

From the other point of view

Memoirs of a Supervillain is a surprising gem. The author has written an overall well flowing story. There are a few bumps, but they in no way detract from the enjoyment.
Be warned though, this is not for kids. there are moral and adult themes that are not appropriate for a younger audience

"Iceblade Rocks"

Great author, great narrator, great plot. Iceblade is a great character and would enjoy reading more about his exploits. This was a refreshing take on the whole superhero/supervillain storyline. I would recommend this book to anyone. Well worth the time and credit. Stuart, any more forthcoming adventures?

I love a little super-hero in my fantasy/science-fiction listens so this book hit on all levels with me. I loved it!!

The story is told from the perspective of the supervillain and we get the joy of discovering how he came to be. I seriously need to tip my hat to the author for this. The genesis of this supervillain was very inventive and it made his villainy ways, well, understandable.

The narrator has a certain grit to his voice that absolutely endeared me to this performance. It was pretty special.

This book did have one flaw though and that was the last chapter. Stop before that one. You can thank me later.

Awesome story

This is neither a story for younglings, or people who are looking for HEA, white knights sort of tales. The MC is unapologetically not a nice person to those who cross him, or for those he is paid to cross. The world, and the story is very well done, even if the MC needs an insane luck stat to account for some of his good fortune. The narrator was good, save for it sounded like someone in their 50’s trying to portray someone much younger. Not to say it was bad, it was very well done. It just took away from the MC when his stated age starts as a teen and is in mid/late twenties by the end of the book. Even so, hoping to see the rest of this characters story as audio books soon.

being the bad man

If you ever wondered why Lex Luthor does what he does, or what makes Doctor Doom tick you might get an idea from Iceblade. Great story that I enjoyed from beginning to end. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
