Publisher's Summary

She stopped the deadliest serial killer in modern history. But there’s still one villain left.

Ginger Mitchell accomplished the impossible; the former call girl and now sort-of private investigator got into all of this to bring her mother’s killer to justice. But Darlene is still on the loose. It was bad enough when the woman was manipulating Ginger from afar, but now Darlene is in Portland wreaking up-close-and-personal havoc under the assumed identity of Isabelle Dunkirk.

The police don’t believe there’s a connection between Darlene and Isabelle. All of Ginger’s less-than-law-abiding allies keep turning on her. Even Rhino, her ride-or-die, can’t seem to stop picking fights with her. And he’s developed an annoying habit of taking on unimportant cases on her behalf. It’s a shitty time for their partnership to fall apart.

But Ginger’s tired of losing to Darlene, so she keeps trying to beat her - even if it means doing so alone. Darlene always seems to stay one step ahead of Ginger. Does this mean Ginger’s next move will be her last?

Fantastic

Well written, edge of your seat, fun listen. The main character is not all about finding love, thank goodness, and has a gay BFF. Dead mom as a ghost to help solve crimes creates an interesting twist.

It grew on me!

At first I thought it was cheesy with the whole ghost thing but knowing I was listening to the last one had me sad. I will miss Rhino and Ginger and I hope that there will be more!

An emotional story with so many heroes.

Eric has written this series so well and sucks you in with all of the characters. On top of that, non-other than Candace gives them the voice to make you part of them. Because of the colorful language and wit, I had to keep my earbuds in the entire time so my kids couldn't hear why I was laughing and cheering, with the occasional WTF! That said, when they are old enough I will share this book with them too. I have enjoyed very much sometimes eating breakfast with Ginger and discussing the next plan as well, kicking in doors with Rino. I can only hope for more time with them but still enjoyed then end. As a combat veteran, hetro, white, familyman, I enjoyed the confrontation with the various character's along with barriers they face and their personal bias (even made me pause and question my own occasionally). Just enough to get evolved but not too much to take away from the story. Too many books fall short with this in my opinion and become just an agenda. Bravo Eric and Candace! You are both forces to be recocond with. I truly hope you both find fortune in your callings, you have both earned it. Buuuut silently hope I learn of a fire sale only to collect all Eric's writings and anything Candace narrates so I can afford it all. Credits ain't cheap these days. until then I will have to resort to using mine for you. thank you for this series.

I NEED ANOTHER!!

I love this series of books. A breath of fresh air! Witty, unrealistic fun! I love that the lead is a woman with great supporting characters.

So happy I found these books!

Brilliant reading

The reader helps suspend belief when needed and keeps the pace of the story going. Good and suspenseful as well as fun to listen to—but not dumbed down fun like too many other mysteries. Enjoy!

excellent

As great as the first 2 books! Very captivating! I really hope that the author will write more stories about Ginger. Would be great to know how her and her people move forward! Do they stay in the private eye business, or does she join the FBI!

Such a fun read

You can tell someone advised the voice actor by this volume because she pronounces Oregon places correctly. It was so fun to learn a new word; “snain”. I was sad when the third volume finished, I could listen to the stories all day every day. These books are fun, funny, exciting, interesting, and definitely fun.

Great fast moving story!!

The saga of Ginger never got old. Such a fun fast paced story with so many up and downs. I loved that Ginger was never weak even when she could have been.

Sad that this series ended

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I think Natasha Lyonne should play Ginger in a film version.

Light and listenable for all 3 volumes.

Easy and enjoyable characters with an unusual twist of mom. What makes this book a five star though is the brilliant narration by the sassy Candace Thaxton. Thank you CT for filling my ears over the last three volumes.
