Publisher's summary

From USA Today best-selling author Jack Mars, author of the critically acclaimed Luke Stone and Agent Zero series (with more than 5,000 five-star reviews), comes an explosive, action-packed new thriller series that takes listeners on a wild-ride across Europe, America, and the world.

After elite Navy SEAL Troy Stark is forced into retirement for his dubious respect for authority, his work in stopping a major terrorist threat to New York is noticed. Invited to join a secretive new international terrorist-fighting organization, Troy must hunt down all threats to the US that originate from overseas—and preempt them by any means possible.

In Rogue Mission, an isolated sex-trafficking case leads Troy to a vast, underground network of organized crime in Europe. Hundreds of women, it seems, are being trafficked and used to fund terrorist organizations. In this high-octane action thriller, Troy must uncover a vast web of crime, protected at the highest levels, and take on his most complex enemy yet.

A binge-worthy action thriller with heart-pounding suspense and unforeseen twists, Rogue Mission is the fourth novel in an exhilarating new series by a best-selling author that will have you fall in love with a brand-new action hero—and keep listening late into the night.

Rogue Shot, book five in the series, is now also available.

Great Story

As good as any he’s written. A little short but he made up for it with quality.

Horrible editing

Only in chapter 9 and have already come across no less than 4 instances where you hear the narrator say a phrase, then a “click,” then the same praise as the narrator continues. These are obviously places where either because of a mistake or taking a break prior to the end of a chapter, recording was stopped and restarted.

Nonetheless, this tor of sloppy editing is unprofessional and shouldn’t happen. It ruins the enjoyment of the book.

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!!!!!

Eh

Through book 4 now. Storyline generally lacks any creativity or character development. Can’t pinpoint why I feel this way but I just seem to be waiting for the end each time, not engaged in the storyline. It’s always the same thing. “We’re only here to investigate. Oh snap, gunfight. Oh no everyone’s mad about it.” There isn’t any creativity in the way Stark resolves a tactical situation. Almost like he’s just a big dumb ogre that bangs into a room and drops dudes. Oh sorry, he’s also now afraid of killing because of DuBois. Really?

The narration leaves quite a bit to be desired. The constant “BOOM” noises are just annoying and amateur. And I’m not sure who the proof-listener is but just in book 4 there are probably a dozen times where you hear the narrator hit his “clacker” and repeat a sentence with different tones or inflections.

I’ll keep going if there’s a book 5, but only because it’s a decent way to pass the time while driving
