Publisher's Summary

Business is slow for M.Y.T.H., Inc., and its president, Bunny, is getting nervous that the company might not meet its quarterly goal. So when a job comes in that's worth an absurd amount of gold - and also happens to take them to Winslow, the most luxurious vacation resort in any dimension - the team jumps at the opportunity to recoup some cash and maybe catch some R&R.

Only, magician Skeeve has an unsettling feeling that this mission might be trickier than it seems. Someone in Winslow is messing with the magic lines and working hard to ensure that the M.Y.T.H. crew gets nowhere near the powerful relic that they've been hired to find. And as the mysterious manipulation turns deadly, Skeeve, Bunny, Aahz, and the rest of their partners find themselves in a race not only to finish the job, but also to escape paradise alive.

Should have kept Noah Michael Levine as Narrator!

What did you love best about Robert Asprin's Myth-Fits?

Jody has done a great job at Keeping Robert Asprin's characters alive and in the spirit of the original.

What didn’t you like about Kyle McCarley’s performance?

All of the characters sound like they are whining in the book- he doesn't capture the essence of the characters like the previous narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I couldn't. I love the stories, but honestly, the narrator was putting me off, so I could only listen in pieces.

Any additional comments?

Bring back Noah Michael Levine

They need to redo this book with Michael Levine.

People in this business who are professionals should know better than to change narrators in an established series. Especially with such inferior narrator. Now I can wait to see if they redo it with the proper narrator. They did that with a Harry Dresden book (much to my relief). Personally I'd rather wait months while they work out whatever problem they are having with the narrator. Maybe this narrator was good on another series, but not this one. Narrators help to put the character in the characters. So when you change narrators in an established series it changes the characters.

Had to suffer through the narrator

Have enjoyed this series with the previous narrator. Had to struggle to get through with this narrator. His voice was very unpleasant and lacked expression.

A good addition

I enjoyed the story but I prefer Noah Michael Levine's narration mainly because I'm used to his characters.

And on the 20th Book you change Narrators

If you could sum up Robert Asprin's Myth-Fits in three words, what would they be?

Great Series

Who was your favorite character and why?

Skieve, The main character of the book to which you can always relate

How could the performance have been better?

The original Narrator, by changing narrators on the last book shows the author is more interested in herself than the series

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes I cried ... because I could not stand the narrators voice

Any additional comments?

I have not finished this book after listening to the previous 19 books, nor will I. Neither shaall I ever purchase another book by Jody Lynn Nye. She shows she comes before her readers which is the opposite of what any good author does.

Really good addition

Ms Nye is doing a great job carrying on with the Myth series. This book stayed true to Robert's original work. The performance was great as well as the development of the supporting characters. If you liked this series, you will enjoy this book.

Love the story, but the reader didn't capture the feel

Like a lot of other readers, I found Kyle's whining narrative to be at odds with the other narrators of this series. I've never seen Skeeve as a whiner, unsure of himself - sure, but I never felt like he was negative or whined a lot until I was listening to this book. I feel like Kyle did a good job over all, but it just wasn't the MYTH adventure we've all come to know and love.

That said, the story was good, I thought the whole team faced a good challenge and used each of their talents well. Skeeve faced a deeper level of danger than he had previously, I'm not sure if he grew a lot out of it, but I think Jody did a great job of writing another adventure.

much better than her first solo Myth book. a little different that what had been but still something I will continue reading. I'm glad that it wasn't the disaster that Myth Quoted was.

disappointed by the lack of growth in skeeve

skeeve shows no emotional or practical growth in this story, but he does show a huge amount of idiotic pride, he is a huge burden on the team panicking at even the slightes bit of trouble and bunny has a some mysterious problem and by chapter 19 has not revealed what it is. this book give me a headache, i remember earlier books that were funny and very well written. the actor playing skeeve doest shoe much inflection in his voise.

Long time fans should give it a chance!

As one fan who has listened to all and invested his money in this series, I'll say that I'm all in.
Dragon Poker jokes aside though, it was rough going through an abrupt change of narrators as pointed out by other reviews of this title. We all have enjoyed Noah Micheal Levine's renditions of the beloved cast and the upbeat delivery and the ad lib of his performances. Kyle McCarley must be given a chance to shine as well. I found his performance to be just as entertaining and his take of the cast, a pleasant change as well. My only complaint of the over all performance was the narrative overtone at times sounded over the top sarcastic which would make it harder to listen to to a fan who looks for the lighter side of the comedy tone that this book is supposed to portray. Jody Lynn Nye's first solo foray into the Myth adventure universe keeps to the heart of the series that Robert Asprin started. Her earlier Myth works along side the late author, as well as this latest collaboration, remains faithful to the series.I'm looking forward to the next book!
