Have you ever woken up, rolled over, and thought to yourself, “I’m pretty sure I’m working for a Super Villain.”

If you haven’t, then maybe you’re not the type of person to work for a global corporation.

Edmund, however, is just such an individual.

He works for Legion: a corporation of unimaginable reach that he barely understands, a corporation that seems determined to put itself smack dab in the middle of a brewing civil war between Super Heroes and Super Villains.

That doesn’t even take into account the fact that the governments of the world don’t seem to be taking too keenly to Legion, either.

All of that is mostly irrelevant to Edmund, though. He works for the company and does all he can to make sure they succeed.

From cleaning up after a bad operation and disposing of bodies to providing hush money, getting rid of agents from opposing intelligence communities, or just helping an informant escape from a Super Villain, Edmund has done it all in this line of work.

That doesn’t fill up the entirety of his life, however.

The rest of it is trying to get a date with the woman he likes and looking out for his little sister while hiding the fact he himself has a superpower.

A superpower that lets him save and load the world whenever he likes as if it were a video game and subject to his personal whims.

At least, that’s what he thought in the beginning.

This reminds me very much of Quicksave from the book series The Perfect Run, which is also a good book so this is a compliment. It's interesting to think about the possibilities and how far back this goes and intertwines into the story. good if you're caught up with the current series interested to see how it ties into the other aligning book series

very interesting

It was a little difficult to keep track of where or rather when things were, as I usually only listen to it on my drive to and from work. A fun spinoff.

Challenging read, but fun

I did like it because it picks up some of Super Save. Weird shit like a lot but not. I did enjoy it

confused

a new low for the author. I had to give up on listening 4 ours into the book, as I could nor come up with a single reason to continue spending my time on this book instead of something else.

dull mediocrity

There was potential for this to be better than it was, but it felt like the author lost interest, and wanted to wrap this up.

Had Potential to be better

Short version, if you haven't read the other runner books and aren't enjoying new Felix this one isn't for you.

Felix 2.0 whines his way through half the book. Gets rejected and promises he won't put his life on hold due to said rejection, then does just that repeatedly while hype focusing on a single woman while his life, his future, and everything around him burn.

Then despite an almost conscious effort at ignorance at every turn, and what amounts to deus ex speed dating and wibbly wobbly timey wimey. He gets oddly judegy and sanctimonious. outta all of the runnervese books and what feels more and more like a harem author who doesn't wanna do the whole pesky relationship thing. I've never struggled through one more with an mc and main girl that are both unlikeable.

also real late in the game/universe to start poorly questioning the ideology of the overall plot .

hello there fellow youth

I am a big fan of the "Runner-verse" and this is more, and more is better! That said, I normally loath anything dealing with Time Travel. The fact that I listened through the whole of the book and even enjoyed it says quite a lot! Good job William, and good job Stephanie, as well! She had some big shoes to fill and did a damn good job of it!

As good as time travel gets.

This had a surprisingly different feel from the rest of the series in regards to the main character... And yet, it felt like it fit perfectly with everything that has come before.

Unique among the series (READ SSOSH 5 FIRST, BTW!)

So this is practically the next step after super sale on super heroes. Really interesting ending and I’m glad there’s room for more to add. I wonder what will happen next. Another good read to this story’s universe.

Crazy ending
