Publisher's summary

Someone is watching...no one is safe.

The once tranquil woods in a picturesque part of Lenchester have become the bloody stage to a series of ritualistic murders. With no suspects, Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker is once again forced to call on the services of forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish.

But this murderer isn't like any they've faced before. The murders are highly elaborate, but different in their own way, and with the clock ticking, they need to get inside the killer's head before it's too late.

Intriguing reading.

Loved it. Lots of interesting information about heraldry & the arts. Lots of information about subjects not normally used as a basis for murders.

History and emotions

Great history and solid incorporation of daily emotions. Enjoy hearing authors comments at the end each time

Continuing Great Story

I am enjoying listening to this series of Cavendish and Walker. I appreciate the research that must go into writing a story like this. Well done Sally

Enjoyable but not a standout

As with all the books in this series I enjoyed listening to it but this one, I didn't find it very exciting. once the killer was revealed my reaction was Oh OK. But on saying that it was still enjoyable

Enjoyable series...

I like these books and am vested in the overall outcome for all the characters. However, I still don't understand why they speak to each other so rudely...it's a sticking point with me and keeps the 5-star review at bay. Narration is perfect.

Just not believable

I think I’m done with this series. Without giving anything away, if a murderer keeps dumping bodies in THE SAME PLACE, “…Can’t afford to place an officer there around the clock” is ridiculous! The Met or another county’s force would surely provide manpower to catch a serial killer. And it’s so unrealistic to have George so involved with police investigations, from being at the scenes to interrogating suspects. And she apparently has magical powers to correctly read every facial expression. I also don’t care for the narrator.

Big Let Down

l love this series and have been waiting for this new one.
BUT ! I'm really disappointed with it.
There was no mystery at all who the killer was, no thrill with the murders. Like ingredients that didn't mix and also had no flavor on their own. Not engaging
