Publisher's summary

Number one New York Times best-selling author Robyn Carr returns to the beloved town of Virgin River with a brand-new story about fresh starts and new friends.

Now a Netflix Original Series!

Kaylee Sloan’s home in Southern California is full of wonderful memories of the woman who raised her. But the memories are prolonging her grief over her mother’s recent death. A successful author, Kaylee hoped she could pour herself into her work. Instead she has terrible writer’s block and a looming deadline.

Determined to escape distractions and avoid the holiday season, Kaylee borrows a cabin in Virgin River. She knows the isolation will help her writing, and as she drives north through the mountains and the majestic redwoods, she immediately feels inspired. Until she arrives at a building that has just gone up in flames. Devastated, she heads to Jack’s Bar to plan her next steps. The local watering hole is the heart of the town, and once she crosses the threshold, she’s surprised to be embraced by people who are more than willing to help a friend - or a stranger - in need.

Kaylee’s world is expanding in ways she never dreamed possible. And when she rescues a kitten followed by a dog with a litter of puppies, she finds her heart opening up to the animals who need her. And then there’s the dog trainer who knows exactly how to help her. As the holidays approach, Kaylee’s dread turns to wonder. Because there’s no better place to spend Christmas than Virgin River.

Before it was adapted into a Netflix show, Virgin River was a series of more than 20 novels by New York Times best-selling author Robyn Carr. The audiobooks, all read by Audie Award-winning narrator Thérèse Plummer, are well-loved by a wide audience. The series takes place in Virgin River and revolves around new resident Melinda Monroe, a nurse practitioner and midwife. There's more to this sleepy town than first appearances suggest.

Robyn could come out with a book a week and it wouldn’t be enough for me! I love this tiny town and all the people in it. I hope she isn’t done with this storyline!

When is the next one ????

I loved this book just like I love this series.
Therese Plummer is such a great narrator. The story make you want to be amongst the people of Virgin River. In this time of COVID-19 where you spend a lot more time at home books allowe you to escape to someplace else. My husband and I travel a lot and now cannot, so I read a lot more. If you never read this series start now 👍🏻

Back to Basics

It was fun to get to go back to Virgin River. The towns people are still there living the good life and welcoming to newcomers.

WONDERFUL!!! WONDERFUL!! WONDERFUL!

This was so worth the wait!!! I only have one negative critique. It wasn’t long enough! I know it sounds ridiculous but I get very homesick to hear the beautiful voice of Therese Plummer portraying the cozy and comforting town of Virgin River with all it’s wonderful people. I lost my husband of 45 years on Christmas Day 9 years ago. I felt all the pain and all the joy that this book has within it’s covers. If you have listened to the Virgin River series, I don’t have to tell you how good this book is. Thank you Robyn! Now that you have returned to Virgin River, don’t stop now! We are all ready for many more additions to this addictive series.

I love all of Robyn Carr books and was so glad to have a new one

I was hoping for more inclusion of all our favorite characters but this one was good and It’s nice to include the raising of the Christmas tree event. I was hoping Kayley would invite poor Cyrus to dinner and was very glad They took Mallory in. I have listened to ALL of Robyn Carr’s book SEVERAL TIMES as I love the characters in each series! we need new books in Thunder Point and Grace Valley and Sullivan’s crossing series—- get busy writing Robyn! And THANK YOU for saving me in this pandemic with all your great books.

A charming story with favorite characters

A favorite small Northern California small town with some new characters that fit into the town’s established characters. Death of parents and fear of dogs are bonding themes for this return to Virgin River.

Wonderful

This book was absolutely wonderful. It was very touching in several places but also very happy. Terese Plummer, as always, did a fantastic job with the narration. I highly recommend this book.
