A Lover of books

The title of the book intrigued me. However after reading the story it wasn't quite right. No matter. The book was a love affair on the joy and passion for books and how they can sometimes change everything .

Good Summer Read

It's slow in the beginning as the characters are introduced and timid, sweet Nina is overshadowed by the others. After Chapter 5, it picks up as it follows Nina on her journey in finding meaning for others through books and finding where she belongs in the world. This book would be a good languid, summer read.

Lovely Reading of a Middling Book

First of all, the title is a misnomer...there is no shop and no corner. And that’s fine, there is a Book Van and a farm. I read another book by this author and while pleasant, they were both predictable and formulaic.

I loved this story, I could visualize all the wonderful things she talking about .

Good story, well written, loved the narrator because she captured all the characters and made the reader (me) want to see them happy.

Read out of order, but delightful nonetheless

I inadvertently began this series with "500 Miles From You" but loved it so much I had to have more of these characters. Any story line that has me both laughing and crying, nodding in agreement and talking back to the characters or narrative is a winner! I absolutely adored the writer's style and wit and the characters' personalities were well-developed and consistent. For you prudes out there (haha), intimacy was tasteful and integral to the story. Narration was lovely and I appreciated and enjoyed proper Scottish pronunciations and inflections. The story and characters were truly standouts in my opinion - and I really, really wish there were more to this series. Hear me, Jenny?? :)

Good Book!

This was a perfectly lovely book! About a girl brave enough to change her whole life and move to another part of the world and that takes a lot of bravery.

books are a friend!

This is a sweet story and I fell in love with the area and the people just like she does. It is not a complicated read but a good read!

Excellent story and narration too!

Both the author and the narrator made this book totally come outta the gate running and explored peace and tranquility as an option for a home base of a librarian ! Lovely stories!
