Publisher's Summary

Where, oh where, have Farah’s roommates all gone?

When Farah Cotton places a classified ad stating, “Cute redbone female looking to share a luxury apartment with another redbone female”, many women apply. One look at the lush apartment in Washington, DC, and every fly girl around wants a chance to call Platinum Lofts her new home.

The moment Farah lays eyes on Lesa Carmine, a pretty young woman with an active lifestyle and a sunny disposition, she knows she’s found the perfect girl for her ultimate plan. The two become fast friends - until Farah becomes intrusive and her siblings move in, violating Lesa’s privacy. Farah seems dangerous when she’s around them, and Lesa attempts to sever ties without paying rent.

Feeling overcome with blinding rage, Farah finds all kinds of ways to seek revenge. From poisoning to spreading vicious lies, she makes it known that she doesn’t take Lesa’s brush-off lightly.

When Lesa snoops around in Farah’s past and discovers who she really is, she makes a grave mistake, one that could jeopardize her life. Brace yourselves, because just when you think you have it figured out, you’ll realize you don’t.

Black Vs. Light...

I love Mishi LaChapelle's narrations, but this story of dark versus light girls is an annoying battle that I thought we'd left in the 90s. Just not what a black woman wants to listen/read 14 hours of. Yes, this is something all black women have experienced in some form, but for me, these aren't the type of characters that would motivate me to read a sequel.

Struggled to finish

This was not at all what I expected based on the plot summary. It was too long and I was not interesting in any of the characters.
I fell asleep early in chapter 3 and didn't care to finish this book. Very disappointing.

Who would've THUNK??!!

If you're looking for a good urban read then this book is for you. I won't lie...Farrah the main character makes me cringe though out the book with her "light skin vs dark skin" bullcrap(and I'm a light skinned woman and it was annoying as heck). Other than that I really enjoyed the book ESPECIALLY the VERY unexpected twist in the genre direction of this book. Listen till the end...It's an either HATE IT or LOVE IT story!

OH EM GEE. This book was everything.

The twist and plots in this book, I never predicted. I'm floored and can't wait for the next part! Raunchy was my favorite T. Styles book until Redbone. This was a great book from beginning to end.

Almost didn't finish

All of the characters seem a bit illiterate . The narrator usually does a much better job! Somewhat of a struggle to get through it!
