Great story

The story flow is very good, makes you want to keep listening. Very well written.

This is an awesome series!

I really liked the Dark Road series and the continuation of the story in this new series is exciting. I like how the story kinda follows the trope of all the good guys having plot armor because sometimes you just want a happy ending. nowadays it seems like a lot of books (or at least ones I read) always kill off all the characters you like. I like a story where they can face hardship and just make it through. I can't wait for the next book to come out!

Best series ever

Love it! I am so ready for the next book! Descent cannot come fast enough! I am so ready to see if Brad is rescued or not!

An intro to Durango with little else

An 8 hour book performed well with little actual substance. There was no real conflict resolution as seen in the end of previous books which felt like a bit of a let down.

Plot points from previous books were dropped completely. There is no mention of the group trying to listen to the radio for government broadcasts or info (but that was dropped for no reason somewhere in the middle of the Dark Road series). No mention of any continued national guard activity or if they saw guard or government totally disbanded where we had seen some activity and mentions of it in previous books. The group lives in a vacuum and nothing happened in 5 months between the end of dark road and this book.

Ben found a select fire M4 (an amazing resource) in the "FEMA" camp where they found Sandy in one of the Dark Road books, but it was never mentioned again. But other items made the journey with specific accuracy.

Family

This book was as excellent as the first series. I really enjoyed the way that the family came to life in this book.

Great storyline and characters

Loved the thoughtfulness of Ben, his perseverance and his concern about getting his family through this incredibly tough change in the US. Great reader too!

This is a really good series and Bruno Miller has really found his groove with this entry. I can't wait for the next chapter in the Durango Chronicles

Brilliant series!

Have been listening to the entire series over the last month at work and it has kept me interested the entire time! Love the fact that the original cast are still here, many stories like this are too dark in my mind. Good mix of suspense, comedy and action. My favorite part of this book was by far the John Wick-esque monologue by Slade about Ben’s background and why it was a mistake to take his son. Excited to see what they pull off in the next book!
