loved this journey

Michael's journey (or adventures) to finding himself, his truth, the life he wants to live, what he will leave in the past and the love of his life made for a very interesting, funny, sad and ultimately uplifting story.

It was definitely different from other series I've read, following one person from a young age to maturity but I absolutely loved it.

Jon Curtis is one of my favourite narrators and was the perfect choice for this series.

Hard to believe

I liked the way the book was written in first person. I find it impossible that every romantic partner was hotter than the last. From nerd to hottie is hard to believe.

Great story telling, wonderful MC, true emotions

Nothing really happened, there's isn't a plot or an end goal, yet everything happened. This is a life story and it was a breath of fresh air and stands out in the sea of similar books. Kept my interest when very few other books have managed in sometime.

Emotional

This is the first book in a long time that actually had me "crying out loud". Very good book. Thank you for putting yourself out there.

The Whole Package

This series moved me in all the right ways. The writing is superb and the narrator does a great job with inflection and pace.

Since it's a true story of the author's life, it's easy to forget this doesn't follow typical trope story lines. In fact, I was so upset at one point because I was expecting a typical HEA at some of these relationships. It made me appreciate the author's interjections and reminders that real life doesn't work that way.

It's amazing how I was able to really feel the story as it unfolded. When "Michael" hurt, so did I. When he felt anxious or angry, I could relate. I laughed at the snark and cried at the heartbreak.

It has all of the elements a great story should. I was debating between this series and another and do not regret my choice.
