Man's best friend is about to become his worst nightmare...

US army captain, Ed Crowley has a tragic reason for not liking dogs.

He’s about to have 115 million more.

A mutated rabies virus is sweeping through the world’s dog population, and no one is safe. With over 90 million domestic and tens of millions more wild and feral dogs in the United States, Rabies 2.0 is about to unleash hell. The infected animals aren’t just rabid, they have mutated into ugly, insatiable, and very large killing machines and Captain Crowley is about to lead a team into an overrun town to rescue a group of civilians trapped in a school.

To him it’s just another day at the office, after all, as with any other enemy he’d faced, bullets win the argument, and these ones couldn’t shoot back. What he doesn’t know is that he’s about to face a foe more cunning and ruthless than any on two legs that he’d ever faced.

Don’t miss the Rabid States Series by Scott Medbury, author of the haunting post-apocalyptic series AMERICA FALLS.

This was a fine series. Not great. Not bad. Just mediocre. It’s not one of those books you can’t put down, but it’s still interesting enough to finish.

Just a really OK series

I loved it! Great characters and great story lines. I loved America falls as well.

The narrator did a fabulous job. This is the first book I've listened to with him narrating.

The story is extremely good. The monsters are terrifying, as are some of the humans. Character development is done well. I felt an emotional connection with some of them. There were a few really good surprises along the way too.

Great series!

held my attention all the way. This book was new and refreshing. I'm so glad I started it. Seems like original stories are so far in-between these days

I was excited for this series having just finished listening to The America Falls series. This series was however a big disappointment for me. I felt back story and character development were lacking. Not knowing anything about the characters made it difficult to care about any of them until much further into the series after some relationship with them finally developed. I was actually relieved when the story was done so I could move on to something else… On a positive note though the narrator was terrific just as he was with American Falls.

Not great.

I was not sure what to except but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this. Glad I took a chance on this book and look forward to other books by him.

Really enjoyed this take

I finished the story although it wasn't my favorite. The character development wasn't up to the degree I'm accustomed to. This makes it difficult to care what happens to each character no matter the importance of their role. Some of the story came off like a cheesy romance novel I would normally avoid. Had the writer shared a little more character development and back story on the main characters, I may have found myself more invested in their motivations and caring if something unfortunate befell them. I also didn't sense much research concerning the tactics of the military unit featured therein. That said, I did feel the story was worth finishing once started and felt the occurring pandemic was fairly unique and not beyond plausibility.

Unique pandemic but lacking depth

I loved it , The sarcasm of the characters, the way the monsters/ dogs / people were described. The only thing I didn't like is that they never found any animal that they could keep.
