Excellent, helpful resource

This book has all the knowledge you would get from a professional trainer or hours of random research. It helped with with understanding the moods and "psychology" of my new pup as well as basics care. I'm glad I have this all in one source and the PDF is very handy for future reference. I got this so I could avoid mistakes that might become problematic later and that's just what I got. Thanks!

A Must Have Audio Book for anyone with a puppy!

I loved the narrator! It was an easy listen which is what appeals to me. This book also comes with a FREE PDF so you can skip around to certain sections that you want to spend more time on, or simply read along. What I liked was that it talked about key issues regarding puppy training and specific commands I needed to be able to teach my puppy obedience. It is a great place to start if you are thinking about getting a puppy, or have already taken the plunge and are not sure where to go from there. A must listen to audio book!

In this book, I learnt a lot! Especially about the tried and true measures of puppy training. This book gave me the knowledge to crush the myths that are out there. That is what I appreciate, the know-how. Shawn Brooks says it how it is and I truly enjoyed learning. I highly recommend this book!

Puppy training book that stands out in the crowd

I have grown up with dogs and love them. Every now and then I pick up another dog book, and recently grabbed this one. It struck me how detailed it was - the author covered a comprehensive set of areas involved in acquiring and training a new puppy. Through puppy proofing your home and yard, proper diet, preparing your puppy's first aid kit, socializing your puppy, troubleshooting problems, and all kinds of training with key commands - I enjoyed every bit. I especially liked the emphasis on positive reinforcement. Narration is great and lively, making it for a delightful listen.

A Great All-in-One Guide!

Are you thinking of getting a puppy? Already have a dog? Just love dogs? Then you will enjoy this book and find value in it. Brooks has graciously provided a pdf download for easy reference. I particularly appreciated the vaccination schedule. With vaccines on everyone's mind, it was nice to see clearly what vaccines a dog needs, for what reasons, and at what intervals. Thank you! Also, I particularly enjoyed the explanation of the Volhard Puppy Test. This book does not bore you with excessive background detail, but enough to help you appreciate the whys and hows of the step-by-step process. Well done!

Puppy 101

After listening to this book, one of my biggest take aways is the fact that it is very detailed, making it good for both beginner puppy training as well as for a more serious dog trainer. The table of contents is broken down to the degree that allows one to go directly to a particular topic without having to search around, which is user friendly and something that I love! I will appreciate having this book at my fingertips and having a reference to go back to over and over:)
