I had no idea when I bought this audiobook exactly what I was going to hear. Terrell Carter’s memoir is written in a story form that is so interesting, I couldn’t stop listening. His story is heartbreaking, and tragic, at times hysterically funny, and ultimately so inspirational. Thank you Terrell for sharing your story. I hope you write even more.

Incredible Story, Amazing Performance

THIS BOOK DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! If I could have given it more stars, I would have. I've read it a couple and times and some parts I went back to because they were LOL. This book is based on the life of Terrell Carter, and was as good as any fiction I have ever read, yet it was true! It leaves you shaking your head and amazed at God who weaves wonderful masterpieces out of the most torn, dirty and raggedy fabrics of our lives. This book made me laugh, cry and want to choke a couple of people but in the end, I'm just glad God is God and certainly not me, because He created someone and something so beautiful out of some horrendous circumstances.
The performance made everything come alive. I felt like I knew every person in the story.
I look forward to any and everything Terrell Carter does, his talent is Crazy Amazing. There's no doubt He's touched by the hand of God. I'm a Forever Fan!

It takes an incredibly strong person to experience disrespect and disfunction at such a profound level, tried and purified by fire and pressure, to rise from the ashes a true diamond in the rough.

Wonderfully funny and heartbreaking

The life story told of Mr. Carter by Mr. Carter had my emotions all over the place. I loved how he was able to add humor into the heartbreak and his singing. OMG...this man can sang!!

This is a must read!!!!

Listening to this book truly helped me to admit that I too was labeled a problem child. But God himself gifted me with gifts that are NOT for myself but for the world!!! To encourage the world to look to God for healing. True my story is somewhat similar to Terrell but also different in other aspects. Like for instance over coming Child hood sexual abuse and being outcasted for being a gay black male in my family and hometown. Thank you Terrell for sharing your story!!! This book was my proverbs 27:17 today #IronsharpensIron
