What a journey

Billy only really entered my radar within the last five years. I am grateful he filled us all in via audiobook on whatever parts we never knew about: childhood cruelty and abuse, battles with Christianity, and resistance to love and joy. And I appreciated his honesty at every turn along his illustrious career.

This was an awesome book. Narration was incredible. Billy Porter is an exceptional overall performer.

The way Billy Porter performs this book is truly a piece of art. You can feel every emotion coming through. Whether proud, joyful or emotionally destroyed. And you go through them all!
Billy bares it all, and in the end left me raw. But hopeful.

Billy does NOT disappoint!

I am only half way through this book and I will honestly say I LOVE listening to Billy Porter tell his story! Every bit of it. From the funny to the sad he tells it and expresses it in his lively way that is uniquely him. As a mother there are definitely some cringy parts that made me sad but also some proud moments of Billy pursuing him dreams no matter what. Loving this book and loving ALL that is Billy Porter ❤❤❤❤

This book flew by in a flash. I was completely engrossed by the story and enchanted with Billy Porter's reading. I was already a fan, but now I'm a Super Fan!

I have never enjoyed a book as much as this one because the story line was very interesting but the PERFORMANCE, the way Billy Porter infused the story with his emphases and emotion, made it phenomenal. What a difference to have a performer actually perform their story!
