I loved the banter and romance. Just what I needed. Loved their bluntness and honest. Robbie’s personality reminded me so much of my husband back in our college days. Sex scenes were fun too!

Realest, most emotionally intense love story I’ve read in months

I have been waiting for another great love story for months now. I read so much that sometimes I just take what I can find. This book was beautiful, real, had depth, was so sexy, and equally creative and fun. I love Robbie and Skylar. Red beard and Rocket. I know it will probably be months again because I come across another great love story… thanks TB, you knocked it out of the park on this one.

Pitcher Perfect is the fourth book of the Big Shots series and features Robbie, a professional hockey rookie, and Skylar, a softball pitcher. Skylar has had a crush on her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember. She gets Robbie to fake date her to get this other guy’s attention.

Robbie surprised me in the best way! I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about him after seeing glimpses of his character in the previous books, but he totally won me over. He falls for Skylar fast, and he falls hard, and it was so fun watching that unfold.

Skylar was a standout for me. I loved her obsession with planning and scheduling (totally relatable!), and her chemistry with Robbie made for a funny and heartwarming dynamic. Is their story super realistic? Not really but that’s exactly why I read romance: to escape reality for a bit. And this book delivered that escape perfectly.

The dual narration by Teddy Hamilton and Callie Dalton was fantastic. They brought Robbie and Skylar to life in a way that made the story even more enjoyable.

Cute chick-flick

I mean it’s a typical Tessa Bailey. It has fake dating, one bed trope, and one-sided dislike to lovers. It also has insta-lust/love. I like it. It was cute and fun and spicy.
