Sabrina Carlson misses the old days.

When her scenic coastal hometown was as a peaceful as could be.

When she spent her afternoons managing her family's coffee shop.

When the idea of a murder taking place in her neighborhood seemed completely impossible.

As a matter of fact, after the dead body of a local drug dealer is discovered one morning, Sabrina quickly realizes that her hometown of Treasure Cove is more dangerous than she ever realized.

In an effort to restore the peace, the coffee shop manager turned amateur sleuth races to find the killer.

Waste of time

I couldn’t get past the first couple of chapters, the story was just blah and the characters unlikeable.

Pie, Peril, and a peculiae Murder

The written word of this book sounds really enticing. The narrator is HORRIBLE. I want to read a Cozy mystery and the whole time I'm listening to the narrator I feel like I'm waiting for the punch line to a joke.

I tried 3 different times could NOT listen to narrator

Great story

Love both Meredith Potts and Lili Dubuque. The story line was outstanding as is Meredith’s usual writing. I really like to listen to Lili’e Narrations. Her voice is easy to listen to.

Earns 4.5/5 Slices of Pie...Entertaining Fun!

“Pie, Peril & a Peculiar Murder” is the twenty-sixth delightful drama from Meredith Potts’s Treasure Cove Cozy Mystery series, and Sabrina Carlson is surrounded by law enforcement. In between helping out at the family Daley Buzz coffee shop, she has a reputation of being an amateur sleuth, but she’s married to a detective and her nineteen-year-old daughter is new to the force. However, Sabrina is unhappy to learn that her daughter volunteered to go undercover in the attempt to bust Paulie, a local drug dealer. He’s the small fish and hopes are he’ll roll over on Eric Hobart, the bigger fish. He realizes he’s going to jail, and stands firm it’s not going to be as a snitch. Oh, what a difference night in jail can make! Paulie changes his mind and gives up valuable information sending the strike team off to arrest the Hobart. Unfortunately, Hobart is found dead and clues are at a minimum. Did the King Pin have a boss? Does this go deeper into the community? Is there any honor among criminals? Voice artist Lili Dubuque went beyond the traditional read aloud portraying Sabrina Carlson in a first-person narrative. It was enjoyable as she uses tone and dialect to portray the personalities and emotions of the various characters. She even made an adequate attempt at male voices. The drama was engaging, a short 2-1/2 hours of entertainment, but the story has a lot of someone “said,” someone “asked,” or some “replied;” I know that readers/listeners need to be able to recognize who’s talking, but it bordered on annoying. However, it didn’t effect my enjoyment much, and I recommend this book and the series.

Pie, Peril and Peculiar Murder

Another great addition to this series and I really enjoyed seeing Jessica all grown up and being part of the investigation. She is definitely going to be a great detective when she gets there.

Terrible narration.

Narrator just really ruins the book...She was either all sugar or a trying to be a tough cop and neither work for her

Great story of the family fighting crime together!

This is an interesting book with the fact that you have a husband, wife detective team for the police along with their policewoman daughter involved in solving this mystery. The author also looks at how a mother who even though she herself is a police officer feels when their daughter takes the same job and then tries for the dangerous duties. She also shows how even grown adult parents with their own children still have their parents worrying about them especially when they have dangerous occupations no matter how old they are! Just because they are loved and respected and older they may not be told it. This is a wonderful book that will make you remember real life parents are the same too. The police work is dangerous and you don't know who you are dealing with, but in the end because of the family all working the case the murder is solved!
The narrator did an excellent job!

Cozy mystery

Format: audiobook
Narrator: Lili Dubuque
If you’ve listened to one of these cozy mysteries then you’ve listened to them all and you’ll know they are predictable and not too challenging but sometimes that’s just what you need.

A peculiar murder

I liked this book, it was a bit strange the last book I read featuring the Carson family Jessica had just celebrated here thirteenth birthday now she is a qualified police women (I think I might be out of order) but it was great to see she is just like her mother (and police man father) soloving crimes in Treasure Cove. It is a light easy book to follow along with like the rest of the series (even if they are listened to out of order it is still enjoyable).
Jessica is helping her dad with a drug bust but when the perp finally rolls over on his boss the whole police department is surprised to find him dead. A drug dealer dead is not surprising, the line of work they are in sees to that what is surprising is that someone is brave enough to murder him and with so many suspects with a motive the whole Carson family will have to work together to solve the murder.
I did like the narrator but she had a way of talking that made everything she said sound very dramatic (even when it wasn't).
