GREAT

Pie, Peril, and a Peculiar Murder, my thirty-eighth read from prolific author Meredith Potts. Another cute, clean cozy mystery, obviously I like this author's well-written & enjoyable work. I look forward to reading more from this author. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Lili Dubuque’s talented narration added to the well-written book's enjoyment. Pie, Peril, and a Peculiar Murder

Jessica Carlson has been with the Treasure Cove PD since her graduation from the Academy. Her dad is on a drug bust and she goes to the Capt to volunteer to make the collar by buying drugs from the local drug dealer. When Sabrina hears it she almost has a heart attack. But the collar was made. Now David Carlson needs info from the dealer but it isn't happening but he won't give up. Then once again murder occurs and now not only is David involved but his daughter and Sabrina is putting her life on the line once again as she joins in the investigation.
Lili Dubuque is a fantastic narrator whose voice is not only soothing but draws the reader into the story.
Fantastic audio and story.

A family affair

Treasure Cove is such a wonderful community. Every time I listen to a story, it has all my friends included in it. But in this one, we get new ones as Jessica is now part of the police force. She is included in the search for a killer of a drug dealer and though Sabrina is not comfortable with it, Jessica proves that she is ready. This book was a lot of fun, as we have seen the evolution of Sabrina and David's life, and the inclusion of Jessica from small child to adult. Their interaction is fun, loving and professional. As they search for the killer of Eric, we get to meet Jessica's private investigator boyfriend Kyle and delve into chocolate donuts and pie! Another mystery solved and dessert served. Lili Dubuque continues her wonderful narrations and gives a us hours of entertainment.

A peculiar murder

I liked this book, it was a bit strange the last book I read featuring the Carson family Jessica had just celebrated here thirteenth birthday now she is a qualified police women (I think I might be out of order) but it was great to see she is just like her mother (and police man father) soloving crimes in Treasure Cove. It is a light easy book to follow along with like the rest of the series (even if they are listened to out of order it is still enjoyable).
Jessica is helping her dad with a drug bust but when the perp finally rolls over on his boss the whole police department is surprised to find him dead. A drug dealer dead is not surprising, the line of work they are in sees to that what is surprising is that someone is brave enough to murder him and with so many suspects with a motive the whole Carson family will have to work together to solve the murder.
I did like the narrator but she had a way of talking that made everything she said sound very dramatic (even when it wasn't).
