A MUST read for every parent

Any additional comments?

This was one of the very few books I found to be practically useful to me on my parenting journey! It literally changed our life from driven by anxiety and fear of unknown to driven by understanding, peace and confidence. Excellent, fun, heart-felt narration. Down to earth advice. I couldn't stop listening... and I found myself taking notes and applying this author's advise immediately after I heard it! Our children's behaviors have been positively transformed and my husband and I gained the much needed confidence to parent with healthy firmness, unconditional love and compassion. We have two powerful boys, ages 3 and 5. This was a life saver for all of us. It is exactly the book I needed to hear. Thank you for that!

Frustrating advice if you have an only child.

There are some pieces of advice in this book that work for any child in any situation but this book is mostly reliant on your child being part of a very traditional family with 3-4 children. The author has determined birth order is the ultimate determination of children’s personality and their position in the family is used to make many decisions on how to parent. I am not in agreement that the birth order is such a universal solution but regardless of the validity of the information, if you have an only child or are a single parent, the author essentially ignores that possibility and does not give much helpful advise for parenting outside the multi child family universe.

Thank God for this opportunity

I am really grateful to God for the opportunity to come across this book. Now I can parent with more confidence as I can see results already In my 3 great boys. They are happier and listen to me better than ever.

Saved My Sanity

My 3 year old has been a Strong kid since birth and our home felt like a war zone some days. I had worked in childcare and thought I knew plenty about child development. This book helped me better understand and change the way I handled situations with my strong son. It took me about a week to finish the book and I had a new kid (and a new parent to be honest) before I even finished it! The author comes from a Christian background and sometimes there is a hint of a preachy vibe (I felt a more understanding, less judgy approach would have been nice, we are all doing our best after all). However, take it from the stubborn kid who turned into a stubborn parent, it helped me understand my relationship with not only my stubborn son but my own parents and has changed our lives.

Applicable to both my kids!

I purchased this book with my oldest child in mind, but it is so useful for both of my kids. I already recommended the book to my sisters and my husband, and will be listening again. I am trying to practice the ideas because I can see they are getting their power from mom and dad. I already had one moment where my daughter’s reaction was just as the book described. Can’t wait to keep changing my parenting behaviors!
