Publisher's summary

She first met him in a dream. And now, weeks before she marries someone else, he's appeared in real life.

I’ve spent my entire life hiding what I can do. The things I know. Until the day Nick Reilly walks into my hospital room.

Nick—the man I've been dreaming about for as long as I can remember. I know everything about him, as if we spent an entire lifetime together, and I know I loved him in a way I’ve never loved anyone else...including my fiancé.

Even stranger? Nick’s been dreaming about me too.

Working with him to unravel the puzzle might save me, but the attraction between us could destroy us both.

Just like it did before.

Contemporary romance meets paranormal mind bender

OK - WTF. This just came out on audio so I immediately jumped on it. It has two of my favorite voice actors too. Going into this I was so unsure about what the plot actually was. And let me tell you, that continues through most of this book. And don't even get me started on the flipping cliffhanger! Thank God the second book is on audio too or else I think I'd riot.

Now, I'm going to *try* and give a synopsis. Our main character is a woman who is engaged to a guy who is safe but she isn't totally in love with. During a walk through of a potential venue our FMC has an episode after seeing a home off in the distance. Her brain begins to show her scenes of a life she has been dreaming about her whole life, including a man named Ryan. As a child when these episodes would occur she would come out of the dream or trance convinced Ryan was her husband and she lost him. After coming too and not recognizing her fiance or mother she is taken to the hospital for brain scans. There she discovers this man who's been haunting her dreams since childhood is real and not only that but everything she knows about him is true and he's been dreaming of her too.

This book is a wild ride. It's a paranormal romance with time travel. It reads like a contemporary romance for most of the book but the second book is going to dive deeper into the paranormal I believe. This book is also fairly clean as fair as spice goes. There are moments of passion but nothing super explicit.

My biggest gripe for this whole book is how much I wanted to strangle the FMC as the book progressed. Her unwillingness to take control or allow herself to be happy drove me nuts. She eventually gets there, mostly, but shit she's so annoying.

Be aware that emotional cheating is a thing in this book so if that's a trigger for you be kind to yourself.

Buuuut there is a one bed trope and the whole possessive alpha male thing which made me super happy.

I must now go immediately start the next book because fuck that ending I need to know what happens and wtf is actually going on!

Wow

I love that this book was so different and had elements you don't see in a lot of books.

I was very moved listening to the audio, I felt the angst. I'm usually not a big angst person, but it was so well done and it made you FEEL, it didn't make you frustrated.
The narrators were so good, I can't say enough about them.

I am immediately starting the next book.

Loved this story and these characters!

Unique and fascinating! Wonderful world building! The story was beautifully brought to life! I'll be looking for more by both this author and these narrators.

Meh

I found the story to be redundant, boring at times, and sorta obvious. It’s categorized by Audible as a SCI-FI book, but it’s really not, this is a romance book with a sci-if term or two included. Not feeling hooked at all. But I will say the narrators’ performances were incredible. I probably wouldn’t have made it through this book without them. They’re both very talented.

Wow, wow, wow!

I had been recommended this series and it absolutely lived up to all the hype. I don't know how to review this book without giving away huge spoilers. This book is a little slower and may be difficult to get into at first, but trust me, it will all be worth it with the second book in the series, Intersect. Parallel introduces the characters and gives the background and sets the scene for the non-stop action in the next book. This duet gives me "The Lake House" (movie with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock) and "Hancock" (movie with Will Smith and Charlize Theron) vibes, but with romance, mystery, suspense and plenty of action, all with a happily ever after that will blow you away.

Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke are absolutely phenomenal and are paired so perfectly that you will wish that the series will never end.

Absolutely love this series

First and foremost: the narrators do a great job on this. My one and only “complaint” is that when the male narrator does Quinn’s voice, it tends to be a little quieter than I can easily hear. Otherwise, excellent jobs by both narrators.

I read this story first on my Kindle, loved it so much I ran through the entire series, came back and bought the audiobooks, and immediately started listening to them. These stories feel familiar and good in a way I haven’t found in many books. And, I loved the first two books so much that I assumed the second two wouldn’t compare, but I was shocked when I not only loved them, but that they added to my overall love of the first two books because of the trail of breadcrumbs I didn’t realize had been dropped the first time around.

All I do is read romance novels, and I’ve got the patterns of every trope memorized, including time travel. This one is so, so good. Everything I hate in a typical romance novel is handled SO well here. No character is ever pathetic in a way that doesn’t immediately make sense, which makes it tolerable when they make choices I disagree with.

This is a cliffhanger, but I recommend simply treating books 1 & 2 as one story and then books 3 & 4 as a separate (but extremely related) story.

Worth the credits!!

So Happy I stumbled upon this series!!!

I’ve never heard of this author or series, and when I was trying to find a new book to start, I stumbled upon this series. The concept gives me “The Time Travelers Wife” vibes. The story can be a little confusing, but if you pay attention it makes more sense. It had love, comedy, drama, passion, and enough sizzle that doesn’t come across as vulgar. The narrarators also did a great job, and look forward to continuing this series!!! 😍

Utterly painful to listen to "Quinn" play a man

The voice of Quinn was good, however when she played Nick's voice she transformed into the creepiest guy ever. It gave me the chills! His voice dragged out words and had a stalker quality. I don't know why they couldn't just use the guy to do his part. I finished the book via Kindle and had to turn it off in my car. Amazing story!!
