About this listen

Angel Sands is an old-fashioned seaside resort of bed and breakfasts, cottages to let, and teashops. And with the best views of the tiny beach is Paradise House, home to the Baxter girls. With their mother taking time out to find herself, it’s down to them to maintain the smooth running of the family-owned bed and breakfast. Not an easy task given that their father - now that his wife isn’t around - has suddenly become a moving target for the opposite sex.…

This is a very lovely story. Don't be put off my a few mediocre reviews because they're wrong. This story is set in Wales along the coast at a family run bed and breakfast. The plot involves 3 sisters, their parents and grandmother with a few more additional characters. It's very involved and mostly centers on one sister. Shirley King reads splendidly with assorted Welsh accents. The whole book is simply delightful.

Wonderful read

What would have made Paradise House better?

For me, nothing.

Has Paradise House turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes.

How could the performance have been better?

That's a mystery because I own other audiobooks performed by this narrator and enjoyed them. In this one, she reads as if each character were children.

What character would you cut from Paradise House?

I really cannot imagine the elimination of any one character making this an interesting book.

Any additional comments?

Having read other books by Erica James, it is difficult to believe this one was written by the same author. It is so juvenile, silly and boring, an hour listening is as much as I can endure. Obviously, I am sorry for wasting my money on this one, and disappointed that it cannot be returned.

Absolutely Horrible !!!
