Publisher's summary

What happens when temporary becomes forever?

Oz Gallagher does not do relationships well. Bored and jobless after another disastrous hook up, he decides to leave London for a temporary job in the wilds of Cornwall. Surely managing a stately home on a country estate will be easier than navigating the detritus of his relationships at home. Six months there will alleviate a bit of his wanderlust and then he can come back to London as footloose and fancy free as the day he left it.

However, when he gets there, he finds a house in danger of crumbling to the ground and a man who is completely unlike anyone he’s ever met. An earl belonging to a family whose roots go back hundreds of years, Silas is the living embodiment of duty and sacrifice. Two things that Oz has never wanted. He's also warm and funny and he draws Oz to him like a magnet.

Oz banks on the fact that they're from two very different worlds to stop himself falling for Silas. But what will he do when he realizes that these differences are actually part of the pull to one another? Will falling in love be enough to make him stop moving at last and realize that he's finally home?

From best-selling author Lily Morton comes a romantic comedy about two very different men and one very dilapidated house.

This is the first book in the Finding Home series but it can be listened to as a standalone.

There's No Place Like Home

In a single moment, Oz loses his boyfriend and job when he catches his boyfriend/boss cheating on him. For anyone else, this might be a crushing blow that sends them spiraling, but for Oz, he merely brushes it off and moves on. With irreverent humor, and a lot of charm and charisma, Oz applies, interviews, and is hired as the House Manager for an aristocratic country estate. Silas is the newly single Earl who owns the country estate, and whom Oz knows he shouldn’t crush on – after all it doesn’t work out well for Oz when he dates his boss. But what power does reason have when the heart is involved? Despite their attempts to stay professional, Oz and Silas have a chemistry that sparks and sizzles. There’s no stopping their chemical reaction.

I absolutely loved this book. Oz is one of the most delightful and enjoyable characters I’ve had the pleasure of reading in while. He’s funny, charming, with a clever wit and a biting tongue. And Silas! He’s just as enjoyable and wonderful as Oz – loyal, strong, and just as fun as Oz. The two of them together made me laugh out loud. Plus their relationship was beautiful and romantic, with some incredibly steamy moments that had me swooning. Lily Morton is an extremely talented writer – the prose flowed smoothly and the dialogue was crisp and natural.

I listened the audiobook which was performed by Joel Leslie, one of my favorite narrators. Joel Leslie did a fantastic job with his performance in this book. First, his accents were on point (and so sexy), and, despite me being an American, I had absolutely no problem understanding him. He brought this book to life and I could hardly put it down and ended up finishing it in one day. I started in the morning and only reluctantly paused the audio when I absolutely had to. I already know this audiobook is going in my re-listen to pile. It’s definitely in my favorites list.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants a romantic comedy that makes their heart swoon and melt.

I love it

I dearly love Lily Morton's books. Such perfect romanticism. I've listened to Henry and Ivo over and over. And can't wait to hear Oz and Silas again. And OH MY GAWD, I DO LOVE JOEL LESLIE. Absolutely perfect accents, no matter what country he's narrating. But esp. his interpretation of Aussie and Cornish/ Irish/ British voices. Can't wait now to move to Milo and Niall's love story. Thanks to all.

Just finished Oz for the third time. cannot get enough of this crazy family, Lily's wonderful characters and of course my favorite Joel. each of these books gets better every time.

Snarky Fun

Joel Leslie does his usual brilliant job with this snarky, warm, endearing story. Lily Morton gives him wonderful characters to work with.

Very Good

Wasn't really sure how I would feel about this book but ended up really enjoying it. Storyline was good, the characters are adorably sassy, not much angst (a HUGE plus for me), and it ended in a very HEA. Also, Joel Leslie is an absolute master of accents.
Will I listen to it again? Probably not, but maybe. Either way, really glad I dove into Oz and Silas's world.

I love Oz and Silas!!!!!

This book is "my kind of perfection" and has won the spot of favorite book by Lily Morton. I'm sure that will become a constantly changing thing because this author writes amazing stories that just pull you in and don't let you go. The perfect balance of heat, humor, romance, and story line. The relationship between Oz and Silas was so well written and watching these characters grow from single men that had become jaded into two men that were perfect for each other had me smiling and of course laughing. Oz's level of snark had me laughing so many times throughout this story that there's no way I could give this less than 5 stars. I will be honest, it had been so long since I had listened to Henry's story that I was half way through this book when I realized that Silas was his brother, very embarrassing but I'm so glad we got to hear this story. I still don't like their mother, I'm not sure anyone could. Joel Leslie did an amazing job with the narration, so many voices and so well done. There was one point where I was wondering how in the world he did that many voices in such a short section haha. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing the next book in this series.

Wonderful story!!!

This is a wonderful story. Oz and Silas are so sweet to each other! Oz completely captured my heart. He's got a bit of a sharp tongue and a very quick wit, but he's so lovable at the same time. I would happily read another book about these two! I would definitely recommend this book!

I read the ebook version a while ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, but the audio version is even better. Fantastic narration which brings the book to life. I found myself smiling and laughing out loud many times. Highly recommended!

Loved Everything About This!!!

I adored this when I read it and it was brought to life splendidly by Joel Leslie! Oz and Silas were just a dream...the snark, the wit, the banter...it was just perfect. And the romance? Oh I swooned so many times in this book...I just enjoyed every second of this!

The narrator is AWARD WORTHY!!!

There are SO many good one-liners, as Oz is a snarky gay man whose embraced his no-fucks-given attitude as a shield against heartbreak and/or letting anyone get close. Silas has some good ones too, but in a more “what did you just say?” Kind of way that throws you off balance into a fit of laughter. Especially since he named his golden retriever Boris Johnson because he’s “blonde and stupid and makes questionable decisions.”

This book had a wonderful balance of the MC’s getting to know each other, witty commentary, heart warming moments and slight drama that keep you locked in with every moment.

Since I listened to this book via Audible (no ARC or freebie to curb my judgment, FYI), the narrator was BY FAR THE BEST IVE EVER HEARD!!! The accents from ALL the characters were BRILLIANT and NEVER faltered!! Trying to balance the posh British accents with less posh British accents to a more “clean” Irish accent to a less refined one… then a French accent?! WTH?! Color me impressed!!! I’m pretty sure because of him, this might go into my favorites category!

Quirky fun story

I love a laugh out loud book. Joel's accents were spot on and his performance had excellent comic timing.
