Practical & easy to understand!

The bottom line: Tony Strong really knows what's he's talking about. My favourite chapter is Chapter 5 - specifically "Always/Never" I've always been affected by the all or nothing mentality. It frustrates me sooo much, but after listening to Tony's explanation, I learnt from this book that change is all part of the process. I know it might sound cliche but I truly understand it now.
If you're looking for someone to mentor you, give you straight talk but in a kind manner, then Tony Strong might be the guy for you! I'm so glad I chanced upon this book because it speaks so directly to me. There are so many sage advice in this audiobook but what I LOVE about it specifically is that Tony explains them to me. I can see the logic and move forward with more confidence.
I also love how this book is so tightly woven into my everyday life. For example, I learnt how to encourage myself and celebrate my "small wins" because the truth is THEY MATTER. Even though they are "small", there is power in small steps. Just finishing this audiobook and sharing my thoughts through this review is a small step in itself. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn and is eager to implement change into their life right now!

Awesome book!

Lot's of great strategies that are easy to use and make it so that I have control over my own thoughts! If anyone is looking for straight to the point tactics on how to stop self sabotaging yourself, I'd definitely recommend this book!

67 reasons to return to the book

There is a lot within this book so brace yourself. The more you implement into your life, the more you will benefit. Simply listening to the tactics in the book WILL DO NOTHING to help you get over your negative emotions.

I found myself almost chuckling when I was struggling getting my kids ready for a Halloween outing with my spouse. We were arguing with each other with young kids in the car with what was supposed to be a pleasant evening stuffing bags with candy. This was right after listening to the chapter on happiness so it was fresh on my mind. After thinking about what I had learned from the chapter (and after cooling off), I put into action what I learned and that truly made all the difference.

This is one of those books that's good to return to every three months or so to try a different tactic or to remind yourself of one that worked in the past.

Think positive!

Lots of tricks that are useful in helping you become aware of troubled thinking and ways to reverse negative thoughts. A great quick listen!

Surprisingly Good!

The title of this book sums up two major problems in my life and based on the cover I wasn't sure if this book would be helpful for me. I'm happy to report that many of these tactics Tony Strong talks about have been very effective for me. Definitely give this a listen :)

Release those negative demons!

I'm a serial negative thinker who wallows in comfort of negativity - it's nice and warm and fuzzy, anything else is uncomfortable! Tony teaches us that like with exercise, which leaves us aching and feeling uncomfortable at first, the more we practice the art of positive thinking the less uncomfortable it feels.
Positivity isn't just about how you feel about the world but, as Tony points out, about how you view and describe yourself. Tony encourages you to cherish and celebrate the victories no matter how big or small - if you don't - who will? Self worth comes from within and gives you the tools to begin your journey to a happier, more positive outlook

Don't waste your mental energy on negative thoughts, concentrate on the good - find your own green pastures and live in them!
