Editorial Reviews

Told with deep and dramatic flair by FonoLibro, Orgullo y Prejucio is the abridged Spanish translation of Jane Austen’s classic 19th-century British novel Pride and Prejudice.

This sprawling, character-driven masterpiece concerning society, manners, and morality follows the love travails and triumphs of unforgettable protagonist Elizabeth Bennett. An enriching romantic delight that’s often extremely funny, Orgullo y Prejucio is a proper, yet playful, tale that unfolds with carefully plotted grace.

Don’t bother, unless you have a soft spot for bad soap dramas

Don’t expect this to in anyway resemble Austen’s book. This is one of the most excruciatingly god awful adaptations I’ve come across. The only thing I can say is the actors did relatively well, and clearly gave the types of performances they thought they were supposed to. But otherwise this whole production is really, really terrible.

Adaptacion pobre... buena ambientacion

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Not sure.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jane Austen? Why or why not?

Jane Austen is great but it was abridged like a soap opera.

What didn’t you like about FonoLibro’s performance?

The music! -it didn't fit with the story. The storytellers were too animated and didn't use the vivid language that truly explains the characters.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It was really hard to get over the music and the performance.
