Publisher's Summary

The Powerful Concluding Novel to The Restoration Chronicles

When news that the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates have been burned with fire, Nehemiah, Jewish cupbearer to King Artaxerxes in Persia, seeks God's guidance. After fasting and prayer, he's given leave to travel to Jerusalem and rebuild the city wall, not anticipating all the dangers that await him on his arrival. The leaders of the surrounding nations become his fierce enemies, plotting to assassinate him and halt the work. A drought, meanwhile, has left the country impoverished, many families resorting to selling their children as bondservants just to keep from starving.

Capturing the rebuilding of the wall through the eyes of a number of characters, On This Foundation is a powerful exploration of faith in the midst of oppression and hope that, in spite of appearances, the gracious hand of God is upon those who believe.

The Restoration Chronicles Book 3

I absolutely loved this series!!! Lynn Austin is by far my favorite author. This is a biblical fiction series occurring during the lives of the prophets. This specific book involves Nehemiah.Lynn Austin is able to take the story of Nehemiah and make it so riveting that you can't stop listening. After each book, I went to the scripture and was surprised to find hour incredibly accurate it was. Entertaining and educational. I would recommend reading this in order and if you have not read the Gods and Kings series, then do so before this series. Amazing. You will not be disappointed.

I just am overwhelmed with joy and amazement

This book alone is wonderful. I love Ezra being in it just wish I wish Zachariah from book 2 , his twins were in it. I kept waiting to hear their names to come up. But anyhow I learned so much about my Lord Jesus ancestors and faith so much. Thank you very much for all this and for teaching on true humility and forgiveness and how son gets in our lives so easily. I hope she writes more. I teared up in the end praying to the Lord also. I sure hope tons of MEN read these books not just women. I know many men won’t read books written by women (even women won’t) but that’s so sad because this I feel is definitely for men more than anyone really. But of course everyone. But it’s good teaching for the men of today because there’s no balanced healthy teaching for men teaching them how to be men and righteous leaders and godly men and husbands and loving yet firm yet merciful fathers. I love to write but I’ve never been around men like these fathers or godly good men so the things they said I could never have come up with since I’ve never heard it. I don’t know any men who talk like these godly men. Yet I know it’s how God would want it to be. I’m sure they are out there, I’ve just never heard them. And I’m a Christian and gone to church for a long time.
Men could really learn a lot from this. I know I sure learned a lot from the women but they talk the way they talk because of the care and love and respect and kindness showed to them even when firm.
Such a good book. I wish my kids had such a family to be brought up in.

The Old Testament Comes Alive!

These three books, The Restoration Chronicles, are some of my very favorite books. I am so thankful to God for using Lynn Austin to expand on His story, so that the Old Testament comes alive for me. I read and study the Bible daily, and these books have helped to cement in my mind people, prophets, timelines and Biblical history. I highly recommend this series!

A joy to read

This entire series has been an absolute Joy. it doesn't take away from the Bible but makes it much more real, unforgettable. A lot of it is quoted directly from the Bible. Many life lessons to learn

Wonderful!

As the last book in the trilogy it was excellent. I did get annoyed with the voice of Nava. She was a whiney character. Other than that very good. I think I liked the second book the best, but they were all excellent . They made the Old Testament come to life.

Lynn Austin is a masterful story teller weaving in history and developing the characters in a way that brings our Christian history (Jewish foundation) to life.

A Great Story, Well Read

Suzanne Toren has done really well in narrating this novel (and the others of this series). I was a little concerned that I may need the written version to keep track of the characters (and their names) but the author made them sufficiently different from each other that this wasn't an issue.
Thanks to Lynn Austin for making a real story from the scriptures. Such works bring the Old Testament to life. While there is connection with the others in this series, I think that this could also be read as a stand-alone.

Brilliant

I loved these books. They are, in my view, a brilliant use of Scriptural truth and fictional imagery to make a whole. The narration is very good, and done in the professional way of keeping charachters separate by voice alone. I'm very impressed and grateful for the books.
