Everyone has a story to tell about “that one time” or “you just wouldn’t believe this”… people telling their versions of stories (creative license allowed) or the way they remember it… fact or fiction I guarantee everyone will enjoy listening to “Oilfield Talk”! Hopefully one interviewer will call his buddy down the street who will call another friend… only to have a large group of friends feeding off each other… telling lies… where the next story is crazier than the last… just trying to out do each other! Amazing stories you just won’t believe… but never the less are probably (mostly) true! Hope you will join us for an adventure into the Oil Patch where most people will never get the real story or “inside scoop”… unless you are part of the family. Now… we are able to share those stories… re-live our days in the Oil Industry and share not only the history… but traditions and the crazy people we call family and places we call home… for half our lives. Good hearted, family friendly stories… no negativity, trama or drama… stories everyone will be proud for their family to listen to… and hopefully, our family will better understand why we love the Oil Patch!

    While attending New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) to learn about their Lease Pumper Program, someone (unbeknownst to Me) contacted the Hobbs Sun Newspaper about possibly doing an interview with me.

    In walks Mr. Andy with his large DSL Camera hung around his neck and notepad in hand. Exactly what you would expect from a news man.

    We both recorded His interview of me… that resulted in a Front Page article for Oilfield Talk (a first!).

It’s one of the biggest events of the Northeast area of Houston where family and small businesses are joined together. Howard and Sharon Mittag I can’t make this up… but as I Was walking by the pump-jack, Mr. Howard was preparing to start the engine and I spoke with him briefly on the podcast. Then I continued walking down Main Street in Humble and started talking to Mrs. Sharon. It wasn’t until a couple hours later that I realized they were actually husband and wife… and I had bet them back-to back at the crowded festival. Both are wonderful people and introduced me and Oilfield Talk to several people. Thank you! Thank you! https://www.humblemuseum.com Robert Meaux The Humble Museum originally opened as the Humble Bicentennial Museum in 1976, as an outgrowth of the City's U.S. Bicentennial Celebrations. The city built a museum building on Higgins Street, on the west side of the railroad tracks. In the late 1980s, the museum purchased the old Centel Telephone building at 219 Main Street, on the east side of the railroad tracks. This building was damaged during Hurricane Harvey, forcing the museum to close in August 2017. Starting in 2019, the City renovated the old band hall building at Charles Bender High School for the museum. The museum moved its collection into the new building in March 2020, just before the COVID quarantine began. After months of work building new displays, the new Humble Museum opened on November 14, 2020.
