A gripping domestic thriller

Not a day has gone by that Michael Whitman hasn’t thought about his ten-year-old daughter, Katie, disappearing from an amusement park in their small Midwest city. One moment she was there, waiting on a bench, and then she was gone, shattering Michael’s life.

Now it is seven years later and it seems as if everyone has moved past Katie’s disappearance...except for Michael. Estranged from the rest of his family, he still holds onto the guilt of losing Katie and the hope that she might still be alive. And so when Michael receives an impossible text message involving his missing daughter, his life changes drastically for the second time.

Desperate to protect his family from the dangerous men who threaten them, Michael is about to learn the lengths that a father will go to save the people he loves...and what he is willing to sacrifice.

AI narration is a total bust

I don’t want to be too critical, but the story starts off stating it’s narrated by AI which, even if it didn’t, you’d be able to guess throughout the story. The storyline is actually decent, but the narration lacks the proper emotion or hesitations needed in a storyline. It can’t decipher between, excitement versus yelling versus cruelty. However, I will say I’ve heard worse with some humans narrating. lol.. I’d rather listen to this guy than someone that’s reading like their voice is on a roller coaster.

The bravery of the father

The ending could have been better I absolutely didn’t like the way it ended. The author could have used resources available to get his daughter back

Intrigue and the fact it was a thriller

Virtual voice not bad in some parts but lacks emotion and sometimes sounds very robotic which detracts from the story.

The terrible virtual voice

The plot was decent. The story kept my interest but a human would have made less mistakes. I dislike virtual voice. There is no emotion and context clues mean nothing when it’s words like wind or read or a gun called a .22 read point twenty-two. Really, if you’re going to narrate with virtual voice write words out accordingly.

The AI voice

The story was probably ok but read by AI was very disappointing cause I was hard to figure from AI reading it - where the sentence end and another one started. No emotion in this reading either…
