Publisher's summary

Noble Britton suffered greatly at the hands of his first wife, and he refuses to fall into the same trap again. This time he intends to marry a quiet, biddable woman who will not draw attention to herself or cause scandal. Gillian Leigh's honest manner and spontaneous laughter attract him immediately. It matters little that she is accident-prone; he can provide the structure necessary to guide her. But unconventional to the tips of her half-American toes, his new bride turns the tables on him, wreaking havoc on his orderly life. Perpetually one step behind his beguiling spouse, Noble suffers a banged-up head, a black eye, and a broken nose before he realizes Gillian has healed his soul and proven that their union is no heedless tumble, but the swoon of true love.

"This story is a true romp. There is much to laugh at when listening to this book and much to miss when it is over. A true 'keeper' that will have [listeners] looking forward to the next one in the series." ( RT Book Reviews)

more like slap stick comedy

What made the experience of listening to Noble Intentions the most enjoyable?

it was funny but the main female character was almost too much for me. She seems to be lacking common sense and i have a low tolerance for people with this problem

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

it ended as it should

Have you listened to any of Alison Larkin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I had not listen to Alison Larkin before. She was very good. If i was hesitating on a book due to the story but if she was the performer, i would probably buy it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

When the Nob takes a wife

is there no quality control?

This narrator! The female protagonist is a 25-year-old, 5'10", brash American in the very rigid and convetional English ton (which is French and is pronounced more like "tawn" than "ton" as in of bricks). Yet, the narrator apparently decided that a high pitched, airy voice was what that woman would sound like. Seriously?

The story is flawed, an early Katie MacAlister that only serves to point out how far she has come. It is, yet, a rather charming story, but at every turn the narrator's chosen approach only serves to highlight the naivete of the writing. With a better narration, this would be an overall four, at least.

This first book by KM has all the appealing quirks of her writing style, in a good way. Her books are always romps and her heroes and heroines have the kicks in their gallops that make them very much fun to read. I am really pulling out all the stops on the cliches, aren't I? Suffice it to say, this book has going for it an early look at KM's brand of writing, interesting characters, lots of chuckles and a satisfying HEA.

HOW DID I PASS UP ON THIS BOOK SO MANY TIMES?

Any additional comments?

I laughed so hard I had to back up the book to hear what I missed. This book is wonderful...romantic, funny, sad and just terrific. I am downloading the next book in this series right now...well well well worth the money or credit.

Very good read

This book was very enjoyable. This is my first read from this author and I look forward to more. I can't wait to read about Charlotte's story. I was passing out laughing with the scene in the bedroom at the ball where everyone kept hiding when there was a knock on the door! Loved it so much. Noble was kinda harsh and weird in the beginning. I warmed towards him the more I listened and his accident prone wife was just lovely. I absolutely recommend this book.

Fun and delightful listen.

This book was not what I expected and that is a good thing! I can't say that I've ever laughed while reading a Regency Romance. He wanted a biddable wife and Gillian was anything but. Gillian is more like Stephanie Plum before she became TSTL. Definitely worth the read or listen.

Katie MacAlister always makes me laugh!

Usually, an air headed heroine drives me crazy but Gillian is just so charming! Makes you feel sorry for Noble

Okay book, not terrible, but not wonderful

Is there anything you would change about this book?

It was way too long. I had trouble listening to all 11 hours of it and found myself wishing it would be done about 4 hours earlier.

Would you recommend Noble Intentions to your friends? Why or why not?

No, I can't say that I would recommend this book. I found it to be unrealistic, and actually boring in some spots.

What does Alison Larkin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She did have a British accent, but that's about all the narrator added to this book.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Any additional comments?

There are other excellent historical romances out there. This one wasn't absolutely terrible, but there are so many others that are much better reads.

Lord of Laughs!

This is a hilarious story! I really love the way it is written. Three stooges meets Nancy Drew meets Pride and Prejudice. The attempted American accent is distracting but otherwise well done all around!

laugh out loud fun... Regency style!

At the core of this tale is a demented and cruel event, it drives the tale although it's not until very late that we understand it.

But Gillian is a blast... her story is a tickle. (Her dogs are Erp and Piddle.... dont those names say much )
