Fun to listen!

I liked it! a breath of fresh air... light and humerus. reminded me a little of the movie "home again" (which I loved). Narrator was also very good.

Kudos to Brooke Abrams

I loved Penelope in Retrograde and was so excited for her next novel! She hit out of the park. I laughed - “he maced me” - and I cried with joy for all of the members of this delightful family.

Writing style was light and fun

Funny and cute. Kept me interested. I enjoyed this book. The characters were funny. Darla stole the show. lol

An easy read

This started out with a great deal of potential but seem to fizzle out in the middle and then gain a second life toward the end. I’m glad I finished it but quite frankly it left something to be desired. Perhaps it was just to simplistic and Pat but it kept my interest.

Best Balance

Well read. At times it is a farce. At times it is touching. The story grows as chapters continue. Allow it to unfold. I didn't want it to end.

Cute Story

This started out being a comedy, but then moved into more serious material. It had fun dialog , very witty.

Family says it's all

This was such a pleasure to listen to. I enjoy listening to Penelope in Retrograde and figured this would be equally fun. It did not disappoint. Hope she'll write a 3rd.

A fun and easy read/listen

A perfect summertime read. I found it hard to put down. Fun, light, and entertaining. And excellent narration.

Nepo baby soap opera

Some of the dialogue in this book was humorous, but I could not muster myself to care about the characters. Most of them we're too self-centered and histrionic. Maybe that was the point? At the end when the characters describe themselves as" survivors" I wonder if that was intended to be ironic? This should be made into a movie because, unlike most books, it would not suffer much in adaptation.
