Loved it

Grew up with medical parents that practiced before Medicare . So much resemblance to the stories I saw and herd from my parents who ran a large family practice in our home with six kids to raise . I will definitely recommend this book to my parents and siblings . Felt like home ! Thanks

Good book

Good book of advice to take action instead of playing the victim. Learning about Charlie's advances in medical knowledge was very interesting.

Disappointing narration

Author should have let someone else do the reading! Interesting story but not much depth

Wonderful story of a a brave, good and delightful man! I especially enjoyed his medical adventures over so many years!

The lesson

This was an entertaining and very thoughtful book about Charlie’s life, but more importantly the lessons he shared. Very moving.

Loved it!!

I loved how the author wrote this. He stuck with a time line and creatively would go back in Charlie’s life and bring what he needed. One of my favorites!

Was good

I was looking for a different genre than my normal and this was a really nice story and reminded me of when my father became a doctor in 1950 and 30 years later the difference my brother could learn and teach when they went into practice together.

Such a wonderful book!

This was my favorite book of the year so far. The sage advice of his mother is so good. Stories like Charlie’s life are just not around much. He experienced so many revolutionary things in his lifetime. It was all so fascinating. I highly recommend this book!!
