New York Times and #1 Audible bestselling author, Jeremy Robinson, explores an alternate reality in which the events of Project Nemesis, soon to be a TV series from Chad Stahelski (director of John Wick 1-4) and Sony Pictures Television, played out very differently, creating a horrific and thrilling new world where sacrifice and vengeance are part of everyday life.

From the ashes of a devastated Boston, a harrowing legend emerges. Thirteen years prior, the colossal kaiju, Nemesis, ravaged the city in her relentless pursuit of retribution. Today, mankind's survival teeters on the sacrificial offerings atop a chilling monolith known as The Altar, where the condemned pay the ultimate price to prevent Nemesis's wrath from consuming humanity.

Agent Graham, a grizzled operative on the brink of retirement, finds himself tethered to the fiery, untested Agent Tilly. Together, they are the unlikeliest of partners within the Nemesis Special Operations group, the government's first line of defense against the looming shadow of the massive Goddess of Vengeance. Their mission? To hunt down the enigmatic cult, Divine Retribution, before they can harness the devastating power of Nemesis to reshape the world to their warped sense of righteousness.

As Graham and Tilly plunge into Boston's darkest underbelly, they face more than just the echoes of their city's past. They must outwit cunning cultists, battle impossible monsters on the windswept beaches of Martha's Vineyard, and forge an unexpected alliance with the motley and formidable all-female biker gang inspired by the Queen of Monsters, the 'Nemesisters.' Every step drives them closer to the unthinkable and asks the questions:

How many must be sacrificed to save the world from the ever-watchful gaze of Nemesis? How many more will she demand when the world needs to be saved?

Spider Graham, he just wants to do his job and be left alone. Even when all hell breaks loose and walks the Earth, he just wants to put it back where it came from and go home. But here, Jeremy Robinson writes an entire book about a guy that wants to be out of the limelight. He’s an incorrigible brute with questionable hygiene, but that makes him the perfect balance to his svelte and cunning partner. The story starts fast and keeps going until the last kaiju falls. Definitely worth grabbing if you are into giant monsters or just hate Boston specifically.

Another Great Protagonist from Robinson

I listened to the whole thing. It's good, but I should have realized it was a book about Kaiju. It is not the type of book that I would normally want to pursue. In case you stumble upon this and you're used to other genres, it is extremely action heavy. So much so that near the end, I was finding that I hadn't really missed much if I lost focus for a couple of minutes. This is the main flaw. There's good humor, good characters, and a good amount of mystery.

I got convinced by the sample and the review score, but I should have looked at more of the synopsis.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Nemesis Saga last year, so when I saw this come across recommended, I scooped it up. I listened and absolutely LOVED it. I laughed out loud many times in this book while driving on commute or at lunch, making people look at me. hahah.

I told my wife last night about how I felt about the end (before the epilogue). In Guardians of the Galaxy 2 movie: (Potential spoilers if you havent seen that from a few years ago) Kraglin looks on at the ending when the Ravagers show up for Yondu's funeral, and screams, "YEAH!!!" -That is how I felt. Alot of emotion.

Jermey Robinson definitely knocked it out of the stadium. I wasn't sure about the alternate version/parallel world thing, but it is its own story with some new and different characters making it very fresh. It is a totally new story and not a rehash.
RC Bray conveyed more humor to me than I recall in any of his other books I have listened to, and that was great. He embodies the main character's voice very well, a grizzelled veteran agent getting ready to retire.

Thanks!

Was super awesome!

Bought this on a a whim because RC Bray was narrator. What a lucky find though. I hope there are more books in this alternate timeline of the original series. Finished this one and restarted listening to the original “Project Nemesis”. If you like Godzilla and King Kong then you will like this to.

Where was this series hiding?

This was great, had me gripping my set and I could barely contain my laughter and delight!

I loved the grittyness of it!
