Amazing characters and story!

Loved it! Once again reminded why Ella Fields needs to be an auto buy. Always.

Wonderfully pleasant surprise

I can’t believe I haven’t heard about this series more. It’s fantastic! Beautifully written and movingly performed, it had me feeling so much intense emotion and hungering for every next sentence. So far, one book in, this belongs up there alongside the favorite romantasy series. And man oh man, is it hot!!

well that was good!

I'm just starting to get into romantasy, and this book felt like a decent start! I liked it, it hooked me in, and the last third especially had me making time to listen rather than wait until I was driving somewhere again. But I had some nitpicks with the narrator - she could enunciate more, and her inflection while reading was strange so I had to rewind to understand properly a lot throughout the book - and Florian's reaction on the last page was sorely disappointing to me. Big time abuse trigger warnings for the beginning and the end - I knew I was getting into some dark shit when I decided to explore the genre, but damn. But the ending might be exciting rather than a let down for some people into that sort of thing, and the narrator's voice was honestly perfect otherwise.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ content was niiiiiice. Florian had even me swooning for him. Just, I wanted his ice facade to crack a little bit more when MC was in real danger.

Loved this duet!

I honestly loved this duet. Now this is a dark romance. I love a good story where the characters and series of events are consistent. This spice was spice’n and the story took realistic (as in true to the characters and situations) twists and turns and not lose steam or fall flat with a bunch of internal monologue or repetitive rambling minutiae. Had to get the 2nd book before I finished the first. Got a couple more books from this author because of this series.

Good show and can we give it up for completed damn series. I’m so sick of starting a series and needing to go to some random place to find out after 6 books it’s a 30 book series. I’d rather wait til it’s completed on audible or at least kindle to read it or not at all. There were no gaps that I felt needed to be skipped or fast fwd and this is the first series where I felt the need to rewind portions because it was so damn good!!

this is a great novel, heartwrenching, witty banter, spicy romance, and a beautiful story. worth a read for sure. one of my faves so far this year.

Betrayal, deceit and lies

This book shows the reality of not preparing people for the real world. All of the people she should trust fail her or seek to gain from her.
The men in this book—- SUCK!!

Beautifully written and narrated. Spice and romance!

This one has everything. Love, hate, passion, desperation, fae, royalty, and spice. (All in one evening, in some instances!) The voice of the narrator is an angel, and I cannot wait to dig in to book 2 immediately!

Whoa!

I got the chills at the very end there. This was so much better than I thought it was going to be. Already starting book two. Great spice. Twists and turns. Betrayal at its finest. Must read romantasy.

I’m broken but absolutely a 5 star read!! I can’t even write too much because I NEED to start the next book NOW!!!

It’s been a hot minute since I read an enemies-to-lovers where the FMC and MMC don’t fall for each other right away. This was honestly a breath of fresh air. 🌬️

Flea had my heart from the start. She’s cast into the Middle Land, a space between the human kingdom and faerie realms, and treated horribly by her guardian. Witnessing that death? Horrific.
Then being forced to work at a pleasure house to pay off her guardian’s debt? Just brutal. 💔
You could say she’s lucky when her first client offers her everything she’s ever wanted in exchange for her hand in marriage.

Yeah, if you’re thinking what in the world?!.... same. 😳

Florian and Flea have this intense back-and-forth. He knows more than he lets on, and as Flea starts piecing together who and what she is, things get wild. Florian is not Prince Charming, and Flea’s going to have to figure that out for herself. I’m hooked. I can’t wait to dive into book 2! 📚
Also, shoutout to Adelaide Fernport; she nailed the narration and brought every voice to life.
