Horrific

This was a great listen. I am not very big fan of zombies or apocalypse. I have to say this was a gripping experiences I loved the fast paced story. This one will grab you and keep you to the very end. I seen this story not so much as zombies, but of a mother’s true love for her child. The lengths a mother will go through to protect what is part of her. This is a story of love, determination and strength beyond anything else. I highly recommend this book.

Oh, the feels!

Most books ease you in to the story. I guess this novella was too short to give the reader any time to ease in. I listened to the audiobook. It makes a difference how the story hits, hearing rather than reading. The action hit first, the emotions later. As a daughter, the opening act was horrifying and heart wrenching. I was amazed at how much the main character's relationship with her mother felt real as well as the relationship with her daughter. Later when a side character relates a story with his sister and nephew, more emotions. Most horror stories center on fear as an emotion. This one had a full range of emotions. By the end I had tears running down my face.

I don't want to spoil the book, but if you like emotional reads, this one is for you. The emotional turmoil felt real, not forced. The main character's motivations were easy to understand, her struggles, her sorrow.

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. These comments are wholly my own. Horror is not usually my genre. Thank you for showing me another side to the genre.

Pulls at your heart strings

This was powerfully and beautifully written. The details and descriptions were incredibly vivid and made me a little squeamish at times. The emotions felt in each sentence were strong. The narrator did a wonderful job with her vocal inflections and telling the story.

Strength of a mother's love

Necrosis is the short story about a mother and daughter trying to stay alive during a zombie apocalypse. It is a fast-paced story that keeps the tension on survival. It shows how much any mother would do to help their children survive. The descriptions are perfect and help to build the world all the way to the last scene. C. L. Schneider is a master at creating intense combat and making you root for the characters.

The narrator Jess Jacob does a great job bringing the tension of the story to life. I can hear the anguish, despair, and desperation in her voice. I highly recommend Necrosis as the audio book due to how much the story came to life with these fantastic elements.

Great Story

Necrosis was a story about a Mother's love and she did everything she could to protect her own daughter. The daughter had to learn how to survive. The detailing in the story was well thought of. Necrosis was a short but great book. Characters and world building was great. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Awesome Five Star Apocalyptic Short Story

This author is one of my favorites. This book starts off fast paced and continues that way through the whole story. If you are a Zombie fan, this is the story for you. This story is packed with action and the ending will blow you away.
This book is narrated by Jess Jacob. She has an amazing voice and really brought this story to life. I’m looking forward to listening to more stories narrated by her.

omg this story has left me continuously thinking about it since I finished it!
in a post apocalyptic world full of zombies from a unknown deadly viral outbreak, Amy is doing her best to protect her daughter Lyla. every choice, every breath could be their last. what will Amy sacrifice to save her daughter Lyla?
in a word... everything.
this book was absolutely intense and the tears came at the end of this book, my heart literally broke in this book and I highly highly reccomend it!

A Mother's Love

This story was intense. Once the audiobook started, I was so absorbed that I had to listen until the end. The world had succumbed to a virulent virus, and Amy would do anything to protect her daughter from it. The tale was powerful and filled with action. Amy was a fascinating character as her life molded her into an amazing mother. There were some surprising twists. Jess Jacob's narration was great, and her performance kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Love a good zombie story

This is not your usual zombie apocalypse book. It’s also a story of redemption and mother/daughter love. There is no stronger love than sacrificing yourself to rescue your daughter from a buried subway and possible zombies. I found the story so intriguing that I had to keep listening. The action, drama and romance is wonderful in this story. Such a well-written story, this the best zombie story I have read in a long time. The characters are well-developed and well-thought out. The ending throws me for a loop but soo, soo very good. You have to read this book. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Necrosis takes place in a world where a virus has taken over, leaving those who are infected as strong zombie creatures who wreak havoc on the living. Amy is determined to keep her daughter Lilah safe through the aftermath, which proves to be a difficult feat. During a very close call, the mother and daughter find a group of survivors who rescue them from a hoarde of zombies who almost overcome the pair. They are able to find a little bit of beauty amongst the devastation of this new world when they’re brought into the shelter of this new group, and Amy is pleasantly surprised to reunite with an old childhood friend. This short story shows the lengths a mother will go to in order to protect her child. It was very well written and the performance kept my attention throughout. I look forward to more from this author!
