You Know What You're Going to Get

I like these books and I think the narrator does a great and consistent job. I like going into these books knowing there is going to be a murder and Eve will catch the killer with the assistance of Peabody and Rourke, along with her normal cast of characters. The murders are consistently different and I usually can't figure out exactly why until very close to the end. The murder in this particular volume was fascinating because of the many parallels between the actors and the play they were performing at the time of the murder. The victim was reprehensible and I think this is the first time there's been a victim with no redeeming qualities. It's also fun to see the general storylines inch along, albeit at a glacial pace. I'll definitely be listening to the next book.

Excellent Narrator

Besides the actual book being great the Narrator does a wonderful job with all the character voices. None are alike and the consistency of all the books with this Narrator is amazing. Mystery of the story is always unpredictable and this one in particular is really unpredictable even in the very end. I have listened to all this series as audio and I am hooked.

Great book

As always I enjoyed the writing and Susan Erickson has done once again a a marvelous job. I love listening to this book because of the way Susan can distinguish the voices for each character. This book was good but it was the first time I had a hard time paying attention to the plot. I’m sure the next one will make up for it.

Keeps getting better and better

Any additional comments?

I have returned to the futuristic series that I have grown to absolutely love.  I just figured I have so many to listen to, that I have time to savor them all and not rush.

Once again Eve finds herself in the middle of a high priority murder with pressure coming from all sides to solve it.  But when details come to light, that the victim is one of the worst men on the planet, and justice was served in his murder.  Who is going to care that he is dead?  Eve Dallas; once again, she is the voice for the dead, doing everything in her power to bring who committed murder to justice.  All be it if the murder was warranted or not.

Witness in Death was a hard case for Eve and brought a lot of her own personal demons back to haunt her.  It will be interesting to see if Robb, continues to have her suffer for it in future novels.  One thing that I loved and Robb has gotten better with as the series has progressed is I didn’t guess who the murderer was.  Total shocker and honestly someone totally different than I thought.

I am giving Witness in Death 5 Boundless Stars, and I can’t wait to see where we go next.

The Play's the Thing

As always a good story from J.D. Robb. Narrator does really good job with the different characters.

Lovely

I loved the twists and turns in this. Every time I thought I knew, I found I didn't. I especially enjoyed the twist at the end. Lovely.

Loved it!

I actually liked this "in death" series better than a lot of them. Even to the very end, I was still unsure as to who was the killer. It was very well written and I love the way Susan Ericksen portrays Eve, Peobody, Roarke and all the characters. I just couldn't stop listening and immediately jumped to the next in the series. I just can't stop!

U

I love this series! Some books more than others, but I could listen to Erikson read a cereal box. She brings the characters to life so well, that I don't even 'read' the series anymore. And man, can I get housework, yard work, and workouts done!
