Well written, but not my thing..

For hard core crime story buffs. I like more character development with the investigation enhancing the personalities. It's a preference thing.

Well written, performed, but attention to details I didn't think added to the story. Again, probably a matter of taste.

All good mysteries have plenty of turns and twists or surprises waiting to be revealed, and this book didn't disappoint in that area.

What makes this story unique though is the technique of using the serial killer’s diary to tell his story and give clues as to who this person is. I found myself actually looking forward to those diary chapters more than the other chapters, and thought the story the diary told may have been an interesting novel on its own. On top of that, the narration of the dairy was so great, I really found this killer almost likable and understandable.

The entire story, while a bit wild, was believable and never boring. I'm so glad I stumbled into this book, it’s up there on the list of most fun I’ve had listening to an audio book. You should definitely get this book.

At a loss

I don’t understand the high ratings for this book unless there are just a lot of people who like sadistic gore. The narrator was decent but I did not want to listen to this before going to bed. The ending is redeeming so I was glad I stuck with it. I will not be reading the next in the series.

Starts strong but fizzles out

The story starts out solid and compelling but it becomes too much of a procedural half way through. The characters are a good start but very little development hampers the story. Its not a bad story it just ends up a little flat. Good narration. The reader of the police officers switchers seemlessly between characters and doesn't go too over the top with voice changes. The reader of the villain does quite a nice job.

Second time

I just bought the third audiobook in this series triligy. I tried just reviewing The Forth Monkey and decided to Lister to the audio over again I am glad I did. I heard some things that I didn't here 2 years ago. Why not I love this searies it's hard to find a good SERIEL KILLER series. Off to #2. I definitely recommend listening in order if not u won't know what's going on. Somewhat confusing at first u will catch on quick. Deffinet liston.
