Publisher's summary
Things are crazy at the bakery, as Sam tries to replicate the magical chocolates that the quirky Romanian chocolatier introduced at Christmas-time. Meanwhile, there are lots of weddings, in addition to her own, and other pastry shop demands during this romantic holiday week. While Sam tries to keep up with it all, another mystery comes her way. Marla Fresques needs to find her missing son. The woman is dying and wants her son home to raise the daughter he left behind. When Sam learns that the authorities dropped the case years ago, she feels she must help. Can she find the missing man? Or will she resort to using her uncanny healing powers to cure Marla's illness? Through all this, Sam's life becomes further complicated by the fact that an ex-girlfriend of Beau's shows up in town, determined to win him back.

But the news hits especially close to home for Sydney because one of her own stands accused of the brutal crime. Sydney's the one person that Wanda Fields, a quiet, hardworking waitress and single mother, can think to call after her arrest.

Story
Juggling her family of high-powered (and highly dysfunctional) attorneys, the cops, and Boston's criminal element is usually something Fina does without breaking a sweat. But when her sister-in-law disappears, she's caught up in a case unlike any she's encountered before. Carl wants things resolved without police interference, but the deeper Fina digs, the more impossible that seems. As Fina unearths more dirt, the demands of family loyalty intensify. But Fina is after the truth - no matter the cost.

Cold Case, Warm Hearts
When Marla Fresques comes into Samantha Sweet's bakery to order a cake for her son's memorial, and tells Sam the story of when her son went missing. Marla, believing her son is still alive, enlists Sam's help in locating her son, who has been gone for ten years. The former sheriff gave the family little help in locating him, so Sam and her fiance, police chief, Beau begin investigating his disappearance. Samantha's compassion for others always warms my heart. The bakery is over busy for the Valentine's Day holiday, causing stress for Sam, who had originally planned their wedding around that time. As Beau and Sam's wedding date draws closer, a vixen of a woman comes into the bakery and buys a box of Sam's magical chocolates announcing that she is back in town to lure back her old boyfriend . . . and he is none other than Beau! She's drop dead gorgeous, high maintenance . . . and she's got Sam scared out of her baker's apron . . . Book Four has plenty of twists and turns (some very close to home) . . . but the author works them out brilliantly . . . BRAVO!

If you could sum up Sweet Hearts in three words, what would they be?
Loved it
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Not a thriller. But loved the hint of mystery.
What about Andrea Bates’s performance did you like?
Ms. Baste's voice matches my visual picture of Sam Sweet! Love it.
