Publisher's summary

Sherlock Holmes shows a rare side to his humanity when he and Watson search for a missing 15-year-old girl who has been abducted from her home. The only clue: Her window had been smashed through by a rock thrown by an unknown person the night before. With little to go on and no help from the local police, the great detective seems sure of only one thing: If he and Watson cannot find her before dawn, she will be lost forever.

Excellent Sherlock Holmes novella/ short story

This is one of the best modern Sherlock Holmes pastiches I have listened to in a long time. The writer masterfully captures the atmosphere of the era, preserving the ACD style of writing. An added bonus is an "origin story" of sorts. The tale sheds light on the youth of a character which appeared in the Doyle Canon, Inspector Stanley Hopkins. It was a pleasant addition to a dark tale that Doyle himself could not tell in his time. I highly recommend this short book.

A Charming Story..

It gives listeners a chance to see the humanity of Holmes. Too often he's presented as a machine without any feelings. It was nice to see his character fleshed out. I wish more stories dwelt on that aspect of Sherlock Holmes!
