Michael Russotto was beyond awful

What did you love best about Blood and Honor?

W. E. B. Griffin's Honor Bound series is a great series and of course if you want to listen to the entire series you need to listen to Blood and Honor even though Audible hasn't made Secret Honor (book 3 of the series) available yet. It is available as a digital download though so if audible doesn't add it I have to get it else where.

How could the performance have been better?

My only complaint about this book was the narrator Michael Russotto was terrible. The voices he used for so many of the characters in this book made them sound like little girls. I know that not all narrators are as good as Scott Brick but in this case Humpty Dumpty would have undoubtedly been a much better choice as narrator. It's amazing how thoroughly a poor narrator can decrease the enjoyment I normally get listening to a good book. The problem is that Michael Russotto wasn't good enough to have been merely poor.

good story

the book is a good on. I find it very interesting and funny that , in the audio, is the choice to immasculate the nazi voices to sound feminine. it took me a bit to get beyond the high voices thinking how annoying it was and how bad the narrator was with voices. but the only high voces , other than women are the nazi's. then, I loved it.

Need a better narrator

It’s a great story, I love the whole series. I would rather read the hard copy than listen to this Russotto guy, he sounds like a robot.

Really wanted to skip this book in the series.

Narrator is a dweeb that's way too hard to listen to. Way2 ruin a book!

Can you have a worse narrrator?!

I cannot believe you would go from Dick Hill to this person. Good GOD, he is awful. Who was the director? How could you actually listen to that and say oh Yeah, that's going to do great. Where did he go to school, Audio Directors for the Deaf?!

Seriously, this needs to be re-recorded by a new narrator. Completely ruins even trying to listen to this book.

Scott Brick does a great job with the rest of the series, but this dude. WOOF!

Griffin has used this person before with the same exact result. Take a great book and make an awful audiobook completely killed by the narrator.

Anyone who doesn't think voice acting is acting is completely wrong!

Excellent story

The voice actor used in this translation was not optimal. If I hadn't wished to hear the story I would have ended my listening after a few short minutes. Perhaps his voice would have been better utilized vocalizing a textbook but not an action drama WEB Griffin Novel

Love WEB Griffin

Love his books (have read and listened to multiple series), but this one is almost impossible to listen to. The accents are horrible, the characterizations are ridiculous. I’m only about 4 chapter is and I’m wondering if I’ll be able to finish. It is BAD.

Great Story! Turn Speed Up to 1.35

Griffin does not disappoint. The Argentina series has long been among my favorite reads. The action, intrigue and romance are non-stop. That said, the narration nearly ruins the entire experience of this book. Turn up the speed to at least 1.25. I found 1.35 the perfect speed for the this reader otherwise he becomes painfully boring to listen to. Honestly his voice could become a miracle cure for insomnia.

Worst narrator ever

I had read this book a long time ago and decided to listen to the series on audible. My wife usually does not listen to audio books because of poor narration with her choices. I usually love it though. That having been said, I listened to the first book in the series and loved it. I immediately downloaded the second book not realizing the narrator had changed. What a mistake! I almost returned it. Michael Russotto narrates so slowly that I had to speed up the recording to even get through the first chapters. The pitch of his voice is irritating and when he attempts to do people from other countries (like the German's in the story) he sound like a bad Mickey Mouse. I will definitely pay closer attention to the narrator before buying another book in the series and will preview narrators I do not know from now on.

Just plain fun and magically engaging.

A unique twist on Marine Corps capers and Argentinian history. Loved it.

As a former Marine, I appreciate the swagger and humor woven into every chapter.
