Down home good

Every time I read a Carolyn Brown book set in Comfort Texas, it's like going home. Brittany Pressley knows how to make her books come to life. Loved the read!

The Family Journal

I really enjoyed this book and author. I've read several of her books, but this was my first audio which I really enjoyed. It's the story of a woman and her children coming out of a broken marriage and going back to her small town roots. Good reading!

Sweet family story.

I love this book. It was a sweet story about family, with a little bit of slow romance.

Beautifully Written and Narrated

The Family Journal is a story of life, love, and relationships told in a movie format, so enjoyable from start to finish.

Like a breath of fresh air

The story tells of struggles, mistakes, strength of a woman suddenly in single-status with children . Children who are being snarky and do not understand the struggles that their mom has ensured and the results of decisions that she handles with humility. I also appreciate the historical portions, diversity, ever-so-slight mystery and intrigue.

love it

I absolutely love this book. normally books with really any form of romance that I listen to tend to have just a little bit too much sex. I mean I'm not complaining but it can't get to be a bit much. this one had growth family realistic expectations of a relationship and even a divorce. I love hearing about the women in the journal. I enjoyed the family dynamic in the kids were well-written and sort of remind me of my own. I would recommend this book without hesitation and I think I'm going to send it to my mother.

Excellent

This is an amazing story of a woman’s journey. Through the journal of women in her ancestry. The characters are wonderful especially the children. So true to life. The narrator does a most excellent job with the voices but even more with the emotions. I cried with these characters I was so moved.

Excellent story! Sweet Christian romance. This is the story of a single mother who returns to her family home with her 12 year old son and 14 year old daughter. It is time for some “tough love” to straighten her kids out and she decides that the best place to do that is in the home she grew up in in Comfort, Texas. I love Carolyn's books. When I need something that feels like home, this is just what I need.

This book is so what a mother of pre-teens and teenagers need. Sometimes you have to think outside the box. Add a little spicy romance and you have the best story. Sprinkle with some Texas sass and you have the best author. Wrap it up with this particular narrator and it just doesn't get any better.
