He must act carefully, for, as the narrator notes, "You must behave reverently toward a ghost" - or else, pay the price.

Kipling and India make a magical combination
David Ian Davies renders this story beautifully. (Doesn't "victuals" rhyme with "skittles"? Maybe not, for Kipling.) I could listen to this story again and again because of the content and Davies's inviting narration.
