I’m the last single mom standing.
We had a plan. Move into my great aunt’s old house and raise our kids together. Just four best friends, doing their best to stay afloat.
But then three of them had to go and fall in love.
Now, my crumbling brownstone is filled with loving couples, leaving me in the cold.
And the pressure is on to finish fixing things up.
But just when I’ve given up hope, a contractor shows up at my door, tape measure at the ready to make my home renovation dreams come true.
But there’s a catch. He’s overbearing, bossy, and infuriatingly handsome.
Our personalities immediately clash, and for once, the faulty wiring isn’t the cause of all the sparks. Despite my best attempts to get rid of him, he persists, fixing things and winning over my roommates, and eventually my kids.
And when a burst pipe results in a hot and heavy make-out session, I’m left wondering if my man-hating days might be behind me.
Because he’s not just renovating my home, but fixing all the cracks in my jaded heart.

Many of the interactions between Delia and Enzo end up in a screaming match and both of them being very frustrated with each other. Overtime, Enzo begins to see the type of person that Delia is when she doesn’t have her manhater vibe. Enzo comes to really like the softer side of Delia and recognizes that she has no one to do things just for her in her life. With this realization, Enzo goes all in and makes her private bathroom, one of luxury and a place where she can escape life and just relax. The scene where Enzo reveals her bathroom to her and they subsequently kiss is amazing. The line where Enzo says “he loves the idea that every time she is in the tub naked that she is thinking of him” is so swoony. Also, the way Enzo takes in the twins as his own and sets up the tour for them at Boston Dynamics (because he is a geek too!) is so heartwarming. I loved the scene where Delia meets his family and Nonna makes the comment that Delia has good birthing hips!
But the best part is the SERIES epilogue where we find out what happens to each individual family init. The brownstone included because it is truly a family member. Such a fun series to read!
Happy reading friends! Peace ☮️

Enzo is a contractor, but he typically deals with commercial structures. And when he’s invited to a round of golf with Beckett & Cortney, he thinks he’s hit the contractor jackpot. But we all know Beckett always has ulterior motives, & he wants the best of the best at the helm to finally fix this brownstone fixer upper. But even though Enzo has hundreds of employees, he’s drown to this job & insists that he oversees it personally. His large Italian family are convinced that he’s lost his mind, but when the universe speaks, one must listen.
Delia, self proclaimed “I don’t need a man” woman has had a few issues with previous contractors. She’s meticulous & maybe a wee bit bossy. But when it comes to her large “family” she knows what she wants to ensure they’re taken care of. But when one particular contractor walks through the door, he doesn’t scare easily & gives back as good as he gets.
Delia & Enzo bump heads from the very start. But, ironically, that’s exactly what these two need. They both need someone who will give them a run for their money while ensuring that they are loved and cared for. The bickering ensues, but these two slowly find a happy medium, Delia finds herself confiding in Enzo, & Enzo finds himself with a desire to make her dreams come true. The way that Delia was so vulnerable with only Enzo…it’s the magic of the brownstone!
I loved the way that the twins are holy terrors throughout the entire series, but then there’s something about Enzo that calms them, reins them in, & makes them vulnerable children…though still brilliant. I loved his relationship with him & how he was able to connect with them on their own very special level. Enzo just fits…simple as that. He fits in the lives of Delia & her girls, & he fits in the group as a whole. He gets it!
I’m sad to see this series end, but every single book has been a joy to listen to, & I’m sure I’ll be fining myself in some new backlists.
Audiobook Review:
Joe Arden & Samantha Brentmoor, both delivered a phenomenal performance reigning in all 15 of these major characters. A feat of epic proportions, but done so well.
