Publisher's Summary

Mortality Bites: Publisher's Pack 3 contains books five and six of the Mortality Bites series.

Dawn of a Thousand Sunsets, book five:

Japan is the land of the rising sun. Great place for a vampire.

But that’s exactly where I have to go to find my missing soul. A few weeks ago, I was briefly turned back into a vampire, which meant that I lost my soul for a day. When I first lost my vampirity, my soul came back. For reasons I don’t understand, this time it didn’t.

What’s a girl to do? Go look for it, of course.

The only problem is that my soul is being held hostage...in Japan. Why couldn’t it have been the mall?

My name is Katrina Darling - ex-vampire, newly re-human-ated university student - and I’m about to max out my credit cards on plane tickets.

Three Dead Gods, book six:

Even gods can die. Turns out, they can also come back.

The gods should be gone. And with their departure, they should have taken their troubles with them.

But it seems that when the gods left, they didn’t take everything. Specifically, they didn’t take their dead. Three dead gods remained behind, and because of something I did, they’re going to resurrect themselves.

I’ve seen the world with gods, and I’ve seen the world without them. I can’t really say which is better, but what I do know is that these particular gods are real a-----es. Because I’m responsible for their resurrection, I’m also the girl who’s on the hook to stop them. Yaaay.

My name is Katrina Darling - ex-vampire turned human again - and I’m about to make three dead gods deader.

If you like the Dresden Files, Mercy Thompson, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then you’ll be helplessly addicted to the Mortality Bites series.

witty and enthralling

this author does very nicely what few authors in this genre excel at in this time. the characters are tangible beings without ridiculous needs to ramble in expletives and action scenes are works of art rather than gore and misery. these characters are both intimidating and friendable. awe inspiring and could be your next door neighbor, well, mostly. this author has a cast of characters from the Pantheon of legend and myth that astounds me. some of the characters could be someone you'd see at a café, others are brought alive from the pages of a book on obscure mythology. my applause to the author's creativity in bringing each one to life in a way that, despite their appearance or personality, you could be having breakfast and wouldn't be surprised if they sit across the table from you at the cafe. Ramy Vance seems to have written this for the ability of narrator Candace Thaxton. while I didn't want the narration to end because I enjoyed the story so much, I also didn't want the book to end because I enjoyed her narration so much I forgot I wasn't right there in the middle of the action. I'll be looking for more by both this author and this narrator.

Who are these people?

Four-story it was good, but as a part of a series, it really was awful. The first four books were in the school in Canada. Then all the sudden we go to Japan two of the other students go briefly and they are sent to a safe house, the entire Book. So this story was completely about. Kat and trying to get her soul. These were completely new characters. Kat is still her stain angry weird person or no one likes her and she still keeps on spouting her thoughts out loud. That is so darn annoying. It’s not funny. It’s not smart and her jokes suck. I don’t know if this is the last book or not. It just all of a sudden ends. Doesn’t tied up with the first four books. And then at the very end, there’s a part about how the devil is really the person who was feeding farts to everyone, so that’s why the devil really solve the book. By the way, the devil was not in the book at all in any of the books, except for the very end. The structures of her books are a little odd. This song was very odd. They almost killed her off and I was pretty happy with that. But she survived. Bummer. How can a 300 year old ex vampire be so clueless and childless.

Entertaining, Kept my interest!

I listened to all the book and have throughly enjoyed them. I also think they are worth a second listen.
Her voice was soothing and she read fantastically. I would recommend all of these books. The story line was good in each book. The twists and turns keep you wondering....

Fun read

I wasn’t sure about this one but after the first set I was hooked. There were lose ends At the very end of the series and the very end was the only part I was unhappy about. Overall It was funny, thought provoking and charming. The narrator did a great job. AP

Light story - fun listen

These 2 books continue from Publisher's Pack 2, the major difference being the location. (I won't say anything more.)
As with the first 4 books, the stories are light and kept me interested. Ramy's imagination is great, bringing together all the religions and folk-lore.

Candace Thaxton does a wonderful job narrating the books.

Plenty of wit, humor and a good story line!

Super fun read/listen! Loved the way the characters were brought to life by the narrator! Great paring of author and narrator! Storyline was fun and exciting. I usually figure the plot out. But this series had me captivated and guessing throughout. Well done!

interesting take on the end..

love the story line. love the characters. just don't love the narrator...sorry...
I know the character has lived along time and visited many places around the world but wish she had some of her Scottish accent left.
certainly a different take on the end of the world story...all the different Pantheons and Deities (notice lack of Indian gods etc)
sorry but after watching Lucifer, Satan could literally live anywhere 😅
