Publisher's summary

Large chests are said to encompass all manner of hopes and dreams. Men covet them. Women envy them. But one fact holds true - everyone wants to get their hands on some big ones.

The same holds true for one intrepid adventurer - a strapping young lad by the name of Himmel. Armed with his grandfather's trusty longsword and the dream of being the strongest, he sets out on the journey of a lifetime! It is sure to be a long and dangerous road, fraught with danger! And it all starts with a simple test - reach Level Five in the dungeon called the "newbie zone" and earn the right to become a full-fledged adventurer!

However, such things get hopelessly derailed when his adolescent mind beholds an exposed chest for the first time - a fateful meeting that would inevitably lead his life in a direction he never even dreamed of!

Content warning: Gore, violence, explicit sexual scenes

that was such a blast I'm so glad there's a sequel

If you could sum up Morningwood: Everybody Loves Large Chests (Vol.1) in three words, what would they be?

Funny, Engaging, Tasty

What did you like best about this story?

I thought the way the mimic was written was positively hilarious! I've never heard a story told from a mimic's stand point, but the fact it's a stupid box made for a lot of great moments.

Which scene was your favorite?

Meeting arms. Everything from talking to Karl to being given a name, it was great.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I got it over in two days. I bought it on a slow day and work, listened after I got home, and finished it the next day at work. I didn't want to put it down!

Any additional comments?

It was so funny, I was snickering all the time! The preview had me worried it might have been a story written from a DnD party's perspective, but no, it's actually written from the perspective of the mimic in the scene. I had a great time and I'm picking up the second book now.

don't let your children read this

if you like South Park Beavis and Butthead then you'll like this but just like those two shows children should not be reading this this is extremely sexual and it's the sort of thing that could end up causing a rating system to evolve on Audible or even Amazon

Silly, funny and hard to put down

This is the first LitRPG that was written to be purposefully silly. They did a good job, I was tired of the "same old"..

A little dirty

But everyone can appreciate a large chest even if it has a little shit on it

in this truck I've had several moments that made me literally laugh out loud. I do hope there are more installments on the series well worth reading. if you are looking for a seriously good humorous book you will not regret using a credit or buying this 1.

An entertaining twist on a classic hero adventure.

Thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. Loved the dungeon master narration format and style. Very tasty!

Hilariously refreshing

what a great idea for a book! To take the lowliest monster in the dungeon and catapult it to new levels was a genius idea in my opinion. This story can get raunchy so be aware of that as well. I personally don't think it took it's lewdness to far but other's might. all in all it was a very funny tale that was narrated very well, I'm looking forward to reading more of these tales.

Very Funny

This book would have been funny to read on it's own. I am very glad I got the Audio book version because Jeff Hayes really makes it come alive. Not only does he do great voices but he adds some sound effects. At one point it reads gold coins jangle with each step and he has the sound of gold coins moving during that part of the read. I loved it so much I got the second book to listen to right away. I know I will be listening to this series many times over.

Dungeon crawl from the POV of the monster.

This book was amazing!! Unconventional, thought provoking actions and humor, with an unprecedented outcome!! Fast "read", great build up follow through. I would recommend to anyone who has some dungeon crawler type/mmo/tabletop experience or likes a LitRPG from the monsters perspective. The perspective is fresh and Tasty!!
