The sequel to the critically acclaimed Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus follows Aven Green as she confronts yet another challenge: high school.

"High School. Two words that struck fear into the heart of every armless middle schooler I knew. Which was me. And like two people online."

Just as Aven starts to feel comfortable in Stagecoach Pass, with her friends and schoolmates accustomed to her lack of "armage", everything changes once again. She's about to begin high school...with 2,300 new kids to stare at her. And no matter how much Aven tries to play it cool, nothing prepares her for the reality. In a year filled with confusion, humiliation, fears, loss, and just maybe love, can Aven manage to stay true to herself?

The narrator suits Aven so well and it’s one of those books you can listen to on repeat I use this to help me fall asleep or when I’m in anxious situations. Great book for kids too and adults highly recommend

This is mega awesome! I read Aven’s first book, and then listened to Momentous Events in The Life of a Cactus on Audible. It was awesome. I’ll be listening to it again.
When Aven had her huge humiliation from Joshua, felt sad and discouraged. In the first book, Aven was really strong and capable. She knew that she could basically do anything. I was really proud of her for accomplishing so much. She was really amazing.
Then in the second book she started high school. Yeah, it was a rough start at first, but then she totally rocked it! I was super happy when she mastered the jump with Chili. I thought it was super cool that Chili knew word language, like “Down.” It was also cool how Chili knew what to do when Aven clucked her tongue. The book was awesome. If there isn’t a third book in the series, Dusti Bowling HAS to make another one. I would give this book a million stars if possible.
HIGHLY recommend.

I originally purchased this book because my daughter was reading it in middle school. It held very good lessons for both children and adults. It is also a very good reminder that when things seem impossible, they can almost always be possible. Lastly, it’s a strong reminder that people should not be judgmental of others.
highly recommend.

Great for children and adults

I love this AMAZING and AMAZINGLY written audio book so much that I’ve listened to both of them in a row twice in a row and all together I’ve listened to them each 8 times and still counting

This is my favoritest audio book EVER. It’s just the best

I loved the narrator, but the story is so. Darn. Bad! I don’t have a problem with the language or the overall plot, but the main character is so spoiled! She keeps whining about everyone loving her and it’s like get a life. Horrible main character, she ruined the whole book and distracting listeners from the plot.

On-point narration, whiny story
