Publisher's Summary

Liam Davenport is the most infuriating man I’ve ever known – and he’s my boss.

Worse, he’s undeniably sexy. At least until I’m subject to one of his trademark sighs of disapproval. I’m counting the days until I can walk away from this job. But first, I need to survive the trip from hell he’s dragged me on. One entire week with his arrogant smile and my unexpected naughty thoughts.

I might get fired.

He just might be worth it.

Kendall Tate is the most distracting woman I’ve ever met – and she’s my assistant.

She’s irritatingly clever, and much too nice for the likes of me. I need to remain professional, even if the smell of her strawberry lip gloss is my kryptonite. No matter how much I want her, Kendall is off limits.

Growing closer to her might be a mistake.

I might just take the risk.

Full length standalone book with no cliffhanger. First book of the Miss series.

Miss Understanding is for mature audiences due to steamy bedroom scenes that are in no way contained to just the bedroom.

I am a fan!!!

I have read this book a few times since it was released a year ago. Every time I read it there were feels! All kinds of feels. Liam made me so angry that I wanted to scream on numerous occasions! This is basically an enemies to lovers story, but that it really because Liam has made it his mission to make her hate him that way he won't be tempted to try to be with her....until he makes the mistake (or was it) of having her go with him to his hometown to work with him while he is also dealing with a death in the family. I didn't ugly cry, but it did pull out a few tears.
The narration! FANTASTIC! Holy goodness! Since I had read the book a few times already I was not sure how they were going to measure up to how I heard Kendall and Liam in my head! PHENOMENAL! THEY NAILED IT!!! The PERFECT Kendall and Liam! There were things that shocked me when I heard them despite the fact that I knew it was coming! Listening to Ariel Royce & Christopher Rourke had me feeling everything all over again.... and even added a few more feels to the mix with their delivery! I really enjoyed them and I look forward to hearing more from these 2 in the future!

Great story

Aubrey Bondurant is a relatively new author to me I am so glad I found her. This is the first book in her new series and if this one is anything to go by, she is off to a flying start.

Liam Davenport frustrated me so much at times with his jerk like behaviour. He is arrogant and totally in control, until Kendall Tate barrels in to his life. He is determined to ignore the attraction that sizzles between him and his assistant and yet despite himself he finds it increasingly difficult.

I really loved Kendall, she is such an amazing character that I found I could relate to with ease, whilst Liam grew on me and was certainly swoon worthy.

The chemistry between Liam and Kendall is intense, whilst their banter is humorous. I really was cheering for these two to get their happily ever after. If only Kendall can get beyond the surface to the real Liam.

Miss Understanding was one heck of a read. There were moments of humour that brought a smile to my face and yet there was some drama sprinkled throughout the story which made the story feel realistic.

This is a well written, heart warming love story which was had me captivated from the first to the last chapter. Both narrators Ariel Royce and Christopher Royce are new to me and that did a good job in bringing the story to life for me.

All the feels

I loved this book and I was excited to listen to Liam and Kendall’s story. Ariel Royce and Christopher Rourke are both new narrators to me but that’s going to change because they did a wonderful job bringing this heartfelt story to life.

What a great start to the new Miss Series and if book 1 Miss Understanding is anything to go by this will be a great series that I’m sure I will be reading and re-reading.
Liam doesn’t want Kendall his PA to like him, he wants to be the boss everyone hates and he is doing his best to make sure she has no reason to like or think he will ever be anything more than her obnoxious boss.....but the problem is the attraction is instant and the chemistry sizzling and what can I say about the witty banter this couple share apart from it’s perfect. I loved Kendall from the get go, Liam not so much but as Kendall chipped away at him I found myself swooning and falling big time for the man behind the wall, a front he wears so well. I smiled, I giggled and I swooned a lot throughout this great read and I’m excited for book 2 in the series. A beautifully written heartfelt love story from this very talented author.

Enemies to Lovers

This story was a funny, but classic Enemies to lovers office romance set around a law firm. Liam was Kendall's boss. she thought he was a terrible person because he always made her feel like she didn't do her job right. She had an actual journal on her computer that she kept with thing's she wished would happen to him. Nothing majorly bad, just something like a paper cut on his hand that he had to use the most, or grow a zit on his gorgeous face. Some of them were hilarious.
Liam was a driven man who was determined to make named partner at his Law firm. That meant long hour's at the office and no romantic entanglements, especially not with his gorgeous assistant.
A favorite scene early on, when they were going back to his hometown, was when he opened the suitcase Kendall packed with all the Confidential files on the plane. The first thing he saw was her thongs, from the spare set of clothes she packed with the files.
From that moment on all he could think about was her wearing them and him taking them off.
Throughout the story there were a lot of ups and downs, thing's that they both had to overcome. Especially at the end, but they manage to make compromises and of course a HEA.

4-star listen for my first Bondurant listen

My first encounter with Ms. Bondurant’s work and these 2 narrators was a good one. I am used to very steamy and practically insta-love romances and don’t seek out slow burns. But every now and then one ends up in my ears or in front of my eyes because of a favorite trope. In this case it was the office romance that got me. And I really liked this one. I am a very slow listener/reader and finished this one in 2 days. That’s superquick for me because I couldn’t stop listening. Every minute I had I would listen and loved how the story between Liam and Kendall developed. Sometimes I wanted to shake Liam but he redeemd himself at the end.
The narration was very pleasant. I do rhink the male narrator sounded familiar so it may be a pseudonym for a narrator I’ve already listened to and that’s fine by me! The next books in the series are narrated by the same narrator duo and I have already placed them on my audio wishlist.

Excellent storyline.

This book is really enjoyable. The characters are written very honestly. You will fall in love with their CleanCut images. It’s a sweet romance changing a hate relationship to a love relationship. Excellent performance from both Ariel and Christopher.

Fabulous!

I loved this story. The melting of Liam, and the strength and kindness of Kendall and the story itself, all worked in a way which made this a nom-stop listen for me. Christopher Rourke and, particularly, Ariel Royce, were fabulous narrators. I particularly felt that Ariel's delivery was nuanced and warm. This audio has been an absolute pleasure to listen to 💗💗💗💗💗

Beautiful story

I was lucky enough to win an audible code for this office romance. Not normally what I would pick up but so glad I was introduced to this author and this series as I will be checking out more.
Liam or should I say Mr Davenport is the worst boss in the world and Kendall is the best assistant in the world. It’s not even her career passion but she does an amazing job for this idiot that can’t even bare to be on first name terms with her. Honestly I would be crying after some of the conversations they had.
Anyways as you can imagine it starts off this way but Liam slowly thaws his frosty attitude most due to Kendall as she so damn likeable. Great story with great characters. Will definitely be checking out more from this author and this series of stand alone stories.

A great discovery

Omg! First book by Audrey Bondurant but certainly not my last. This office romance was very entertaining to listen to. I loved the dynamic between the Liam and Kendall and how he came to a better version of himself in an effort not to lose her.

Great

I devoured this book in a few days, Liam and Kendall are a great couple but it’s not all plain sailing in their quest to be together. Thoroughly enjoyable.
