It sure is worth every penny.

I held off on my review a few days to make sure the book worked and was not well-worded bologna. I found that while the results are minimal after a few days, focusing on my environment and the tasks I am doing not only keeps me awake, but it keeps me from thinking about the day negatively. When something inconveniences me, instead of the negative thoughts, I instead consider the problem as something normal and not cumbersome. I found that my stress was much lower and this book was worth every penny and then some!

i'm reaping the benefits.

I feel like the book would have been better suited with a meditative voice telling it, as the book itself seems to advocate such things. Aside from that, I learned what I was hoping to in order to cope with the high stress of my everyday life. I can only hope that some of these ideas will benefit me in the way they have helped others.

It is one good book to date.

I almost gave the book a perfect review, but the person reading the book was just a bit slow. He was in no way monotonous, but I had to increase reading speed to keep entertained. It gave me a lot to think about. In fact, I have about a page and a half of notes I took from the hour-long book full of ideas of things to try in my everyday life. I got all I wanted from this book.

I can’t wait to try these things.

I thought this book was pretty good, but it became exceptional when it included a few pieces of information on how to get children to be mindful and start this way of life early. I had never thought about using this on my kids, but in ten years when they are less stressed, I hope they will be thanking me!

I already know most of this.

I was disappointed by the information in this book. Most of it was things that I already know. I wanted to learn something new and I only learned a few things. Because of this, I will need to rely on another book to aid my personal growth. I didn’t know what mindfulness was, but its something that everyone already does, so I can’t see how it will help anything

I cannot WAIT to try the techniques in this book.

Meditation has always been hard for me, as I am diagnosed with ADHD, but this book acknowledged those who have that diagnosis and gave many great ways to battle the hyperactivity and still be mindful. The idea of keeping focused on things that interest me is accurate, and now that I am MINDFUL (lol) of that, I am in a better place to practice a new lifestyle.

Offers so many useful tactics.

There’s something amazing about a book that is able to relate to the reader on the most fundamental level. When all the stresses and anxieties of everyday life were diminished in the broad spectrum, I was hesitant. But then when I tried a few of the tactics (even the five minutes of meditation in the morning) everything seemed to go a little better in my day. This book offers so many useful tactics that anyone would benefit from hearing.

I loved the way this book was narrated.

It gave a sense of being talked to rather than just informed. It was not chocked full of large words and difficult terminology, but rather a lot of easily understood concepts. Unfortunately, there weren’t many explanations behind techniques, so I had to go onto Google and learn a bit more about mindfulness and meditation before putting it to use!

It is convenient.

I fell in love with this book from the first relatable example. When it asked for me to reflect on my driving, I realized then that I am not entirely aware of everything around me. Everything made perfect sense and the examples helped me relate more thoroughly and consider the way I look at the world and situations I consider inconvenient.

The ideas are sound but they're not for everyone.

I wanted to see if anything would help my stress and this book was the solution to my problems… until it didn’t work. Meditative practices and training your brain to remove stress may be for some people, but of the six things in this book I tried, none were able to help. Other than a few minutes of relaxation during meditation, I didn’t find any long-term results.

For a short guide, it's pretty empowering

As far as mindfulness goes, I was highly uneducated on the topic. In fact, I had no idea that this was an option for mental health and overall well-being. I would be interested in a more descriptive addition to this book!

I liked this book.

I’ve never meditated or opened my mind to the world until hearing the benefits of doing this. Now I feel like a switch was flipped in my mind. I notice the crispness of the air and the vibrance of the grass. This book is a lot about perception of the world and it worked!

Compelling enough!

I have been into meditation and finding my inner peace recently and this book was along the same genre, so I purchased it. I thoroughly enjoyed all it included, but found the information common knowledge among those educated on this topic. For beginners to mindfulness, this would be riveting.

I appreciate the advanced instructions.

This book was recommended by our travel writing professor to describe the advantages of mindfulness in travel writing and I must agree that it was insightful. It is most definitely a book on beginning mindfulness, but after this book, advanced instruction could easily be understood.

I'm getting a lot of info more than I've expected.

I thought the person telling the story was effective with tone and pace. The examples and guided examples are a good addition. I appreciate that the book was not crammed with science terms. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was not a large enough list of mindfulness uses. Why should I be mindful?

This helps

I enjoyed this, but wish there was more. For example, meditation techniques or advice from a meditative professional would have helped.

It's underwhelming.

I was not a fan of this book only because mindfulness is so much more than what is said in the book. The information was there, just underwhelming.

It's not for everyday uses.

I was hoping for extra information on mindfulness to help with my travel writing and while I learned multiple techniques, this book is aimed more toward panic attacks and calming, not every day uses.

I was enthused to find a book about mindfulness.

This book is as excellent as books like this can be. Most are about meditative practices, but this book taught me all the reasons being mindful is excellent for health and mind. It has definitely been an eye opener and I plan on reading more books on this topic.

It did trigger my curiosity.

The biggest problem I had with this book is the ambiguity of it. Mindfulness is something that is preached to help a variety of different things—not just mental problems. Even just everyday observation is enhanced by mindfulness.
