Death is only the beginning!
Kicked out by his family and wandering the streets, an unemployed 34-year-old shut-in thinks he’s hit rock-bottom—just as he’s hit and killed by a speeding truck! Awakening to find himself reborn as an infant in a world of swords and sorcery, but with the memories of his first life intact, Rudeus Greyrat is determined not to repeat his past mistakes. He’s going to make the most of this reincarnation as he sets off on the adventure of a second lifetime!

surprised at the capable voice changes, and how quickly the reader can do so.

I've already read all 25 but always wanted an audio version to listen to when I'm on work or the road. Hopefully, the wait is not that long for the next volumes but gotta say is nice to see them bringing more JP light novels to the platform just spotted a few ones I've already seen and will get them as well
well now I know I'll be buying the next 24 volumes

POSSIBLY Spoilers: Starts of with the main character in extreme PTSD avoiding any triggers. But we don’t learn that till latter. But death of parents and the main character siblings sick of his coping behavior kick him out. Main character attempts good deep and dies and is reborn, with 34 years of memories . Goes into his character development from ages 0-7.
That his trauma from middle school affected him into his mid 30’s is something I can relate to.
This story is about a fantasy world of magic and how he starts his long road to recovery and working on his his feelings of self worth and confidence. Taking his lessons (feelings of unacomblishment) from his previous life to avoid becoming the type of shut-in he was.
Seen the anime, please more books

So, to be fair these are short but that’s to be expected since it’s a “light novel”. The performance is good though, the only time I’m really taken out of it is when Cliff voices female characters but I almost always have that issue listening to audiobooks. Otherwise all of Cliff’s characters seem well grounded and separate and as a narrator his voice gives of A Christmas Story vibes. It’s older, comforting l and well paced and feels like a man reminiscing about his past but engaging.
The story is good, if you watched the anime I feel like you’re mostly getting that plus some insights. I will say to me the story so far feels like a guy that realizes he got a second chance, has major disdain for his past life, and is doing his best to actively change what he disliked about his former self. In the anime it feels more like a guy who has a second chance and is more so learning as he goes about what he can improve about himself and why. I guess it’s a small difference and probably just due to the fact that I get more insight from not only Rudeus but those around him as well.
Overall I dig it and was overly excited that they started releasing these. After listening to the Bakamonogatari series last year, I’ve been hoping to get more LN’s of shows I like. If we could just continue this trend and expand on the volumes, that would be amazing
More please
