Publisher's Summary

When Peyton and Marco embark upon a vacation to Kauai, they are only looking for sunshine, blue waters, and white sand. Although they feel guilty about stealing time for themselves, they know they may not get another chance to concentrate on each other without the pressure from both of their jobs driving them apart.

The beautiful island of Kauai welcomes them, and they begin to relax, until a body is found floating in the hot tub at their hotel with a poisoned arrow sticking out of his chest. Whether they want it or not, they are suddenly thrust into a mystical whodunit, but the one thing Marco and Peyton do well is work together, and there is no one who can solve a case quite like they can.

Awesome Story, Awesome Narration!

Peyton Brooks is a favorite character of mine that M.L. Hamilton has created. I loved her honeymoon in Kauai with Marco. It was an added pleasure that she was pulled into some murder cases while there. I will never think of puffer fish or sushi in the same light. I was really impressed by the narration from Kelley Hazen. She gives each character a distinguishable voice, so that I know exactly who is speaking. I also really like how this is a standalone listen and a continuation of the series. The murder cases are new crimes with some unexpected twists. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

2 Murder Cases

This is the 1st I have listened to by author .This book is a fun listen with 2 cases of murder. Enjoyed the characters of Peyton, Marco, Radar and Dante (few more). But it is the narration of the characters that grabs and drags you in. Recommend if you enjoy mysteries. I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU

There is an FBI Office in Hawaii

I have to say this was totally ridiculous - they are in Hawaii and are asked to help in a murder and they need an FBI agent, there is an office in Hawaii and no reason for Peyton to be embroiled, it just was so unbelievable that it wouldn't be given to a local office and didn't seem like an FBI sort of case anyway. I was also frustrated with the Peyton/Marco constant "in their heads" I have to quit/she can't quit......to save their relationship, just dumb. Couldn't the author have them talk to each other because the "in their head convos" make me tired and want to give up on the books. These people are not teenagers wish the author would have them act like the adults they are. Sorry just so frustrating, more mystery less emotional crap.

Awesome as Always

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it intriguing and awesome. As with all the other books, this book is suspenseful and action pack showing both the bad and good sides of society. Peyton and Macro are on their long awaited honeymoon, when someone if found floating in the hot tub. While back at home Dante, the newest member of Marco's team is dragged into a gruesome murder. And on top of that, someone has to plan Abe's 50th birthday party. Once again this is a perfect combination of writing skill and narration. I'm looking forward to book 8.

Fun, serious, gripping and entertaining in one!

This was my first book in this series and, believe me, I am going back to read/listen to the rest of the books and I am eagerly anticipating the next.

What I found fascinating was how This audiobook felt like season 7 of the Peyton Brooks TV series, except it is in an audiobook format. I loved the characters, the gripping storyline and the humour despite the somewhat serious nature of the content (after all, this is murder). I loved how the book, while focused on Peyton and Mario's honeymoon, frequently covered the rest of their team. I think I could have only enjoyed this book more if I had read the previous books first because there are past events that at referred to for which I had no reference. That may be something to consider if this is your first book in the series.

Do I recommend this audiobook? Absolutely! It was entertaining, gripping, well narrated, and so easy to commit to!
